when arturo gatti got picked apart by mayweather that kinda pissed me off ...

all the people involved that allowed margarito do what he did for so long and let it go by the way side kind of pisses me off too ... that's coaches ..second men .. promoters.. athletic comishes... anyone that has to do with the fights that could say something ..and didn't ..

    he's gone for a year isn't he?...

and the only reason it aint on every channel is because of the people in high places that'd be implemented in the questioning

Mine is the same as yours, but I watched the fight live. The great El Flaco Explosivo sitting there like a broken man was heart rending.

On the other end of the spectrum, find yourself a copy of Lopez/Sanchez II. "Little Red" passing his war bonnet to Sal; now that was some cool **** right there. Pure class.

He's gone for a year for trying to cheat in one fight. It's presumptuous to assume that he's cheated in all of his fights "for so long" and even more so that coaches, promoters, athletic commissioners and second men all knew about it.

Just because I don't want make the leap from 1 to 100 that Margarito has been cheating consistently throughout his entire career and there was some massive conspiracy to cover it up? Like I said, that's a bit presumptuous.

Louis being taken out by Marciano. And Lewis/Tyson.

Both very similar fights. They were more assassinations than fights, with two formerly great men that were now shadows of their former selves.

My heart sank when Morales got stopped by Pacquiao in 10 in their second fight.

I like Pacquiao a lot but Morales is possibly my favourite ever and seeing him get stopped like that made me quite upset.

It's funny that though, many of these people who we may never come across in our lives, or at best watch them from 20/30 yards away a few times, or speak to them once. Yet they still have such an significant impact on us.
Odd the way things work at times.

Watching Kostya Tszyu retire on his stool after being fouled into submission. Yes I'm bitter.

The Billy Collins Jr. vs Luis Resto scandal absolutely sickened me! That's why the recent Margarito incident really got up my nose.

For those unaware of the Resto scandal, or for those who might have forgotten:

On June 16th 1983, undefeated Welterweight prospect Billy Collins Jr. fought journeyman Luis Resto at Madison Square Garden on the under card of a Roberto Duran title fight. Collins took a severe beating over 10 rounds from his typically light-handed opponent. By the end of the fight, the 21 year-old Nashville native’s face was extremely swollen and bruised. Immediately after the fight Billy Collins Sr., who was working his son’s corner, discovered that most of the padding had been removed from Resto’s gloves.

After an investigation, the New York State Athletic Commission revealed that two ounces of padding had been removed through holes in the palms of each glove. Resto’s unanimous decision victory was subsequently changed to a no contest. As a result, both Resto and his trainer Panama Lewis were convicted of assault, conspiracy and criminal possession of a deadly weapon. Both men were banned from boxing for life and also served two and a half years in prison for their transgressions.
    Aftermath of the Fight

Meanwhile, Collins learned that his promising boxing career had also come to an end. He suffered a torn iris in his right eye during the fight causing permanently blurred vision. Throughout the following months, Collins suffered from depression and began drinking heavily. Approximately nine months after the fight, he died in a tragic car accident. Multiple civil lawsuits filed by his family against the New York State Athletic Commission have ultimately failed.
