Saddest thing for me about last night's fight was watching Cotto take the knee with that same look Judah had when he took the knee against him. His boy and wife crying at the end were gutwrenching too. I went out that night and got pissed drunk and couldn't get those images out of my mind. :| Oh well, the champ will be back. He'll learn from his mistakes and come back stronger and hungrier. :good:good Cotto's still the best!
It felt weird seeing him take a knee almost like I was watching a diffrent fighter, but he'll be back.
No, actually he's not. He was valiant and fought a great fight. he would have beaten any other current welterweight including "retired" Floyd Mayweather.:smoke:smoke
:rofl He just barely got by a shopworn 36 yr old SSM and just got KTFO, PBF would have beat the **** out Cotto, hell if it wasn't for the low blows Judah would've beat Cotto's ass.
Cotto #1 Welterweight no matter what ! I can't wait for his comeback.. you know its going to be crazy
I still feel like absolute **** man. Cotto is my favorite fighter along with Pavlik and it killed me to see him like that. But as much as i am a Cotto fan i am a realist and knew Margo had a huge possibilty to win. I myself actually had Cotto as the underdog in this fight. I still think he can edge a decision against Margo if he changes his gameplan a bit. He was doing very well in the first half but gassed out and should have stayed in the middle of the ring and worked the body more but in the end he didnt do this. plain and simple. i know Cotto will come back and beat some top welters before maybe having a rematch with Margo. Your right about the wife and kid. it was a painful image to see but Cotto will be back and give us some good fights and memories. Big props to Margo. An outstanding win and he deserves the spotlight after eating so much ****.
I agree it looks creepy on slow-mo replay. Cotto and Margarito's eyes were completely locked with each other, while Cotto was backing up and Margo moving forward, and as soon as Margo raised his fist...Cotto took a knee as if to bow to his master.
