prior to this fight, many were ready to crown cotto as the next pound for pound king. and majority of esb were betting he'd beat margarito many even saying margarito would be wiped on the canvass.

Cotto will be back, I guess him taking a knee was better than being outright KO'd...I just hope he comes back and fights top quality guys.

i was going for Margo actually but i have to admit that i felt kinda ****ed up inside when the camera showed Cottos son when the fight was over.

as a father myself, seeing a kids reaction to witnessing his hero lose like that is tough.

Yeah, it was sad, but in regards to his wife and son (and I'm a father myself):

    1. A kid that age should not have been there to witness it, regardless of how confident of victory Cotto must have been

    2. His wife was cheering and all smiles and pumping her fists at the end of round 4 or 5 (I think?), when her man was dealing out the heavy shots to Margo, so she has to take the good with the bad.

yeah why dont you think about that image in your mind when cotto goes to the bank with his wife and boy to cash that multi million dollar check while the rest of the country falls deeper into record gas prices and record number of foreclosures.

least the cotto fans know what it's like now.

they've acted all high and mighty ever since the hatton loss.

banging the drum about there man getting the floyd fight. :yep

    give cotto his dues though.

sad to see him get mowed down like that. :!: :-(

Every fighter has his breaking point and Margarito for the first time took him beyond that. This is what makes boxing so great.

Saddest thing about the fight is noone really know's how a fighter takes a Loss?
(Nobody bounces back the same, EXSP: when it's such a falloff from the top in an Important legacy fight)

I hope Cotto is able to be the Miguel of old once he climbs back in the ring.

There was something about this fight and the way Cotto was winning those rounds that made it obvious to me that he was gonna loose. Marg was just there in front of him from the get go and while Cotto seemed to be winning rounds it became very obvious early on that Marg was the stronger man and Cotto's power didn't have what it took to push him back. This coupled with the knowledge that Marg was gonna get more accurate as the fight wore on made me think poor Cotto was in trouble.
