    On a P4P basis?

    Is it possible?

Does Pep just shine too bright?

Just how highly do you rank Saddler, P4P?

no way...saddler got the better of the two head to head, but resume-wise and accomplishment-wise, pep is just head and shoulders above saddler

Not imo, but if p4p takes h2h into consideration then you could think it possible, although Pep wasnt at his full best during their bouts. I do have Saddler just behinf Pep at 126 though

I think Pep was in a plane crash before he fought Saddler. Maybe the assumption of historians is that Pep would have handled Saddler when Pep was in his prime.

I go with Pep obviously he has some beautiful wins on his resume like Chalky Wright,Sal Bartolo,Jackie Graves,Jock Leslie,Eddie Compo. It helps him that he was able to get a execellent win in the Saddler rematch which was basically his last hurrah like Robinson-Fullmer 2. By the time he fought Saddler he was probablly a bit past his prime and I think its his overall skill as boxer is what ranks him so high on mine and most others list. Saddler is who he is manily because of the wins over Pep. Peps a legend with or without him he has a much better resume in my opinion.

Pep handled saddler in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fights......outboxed him in all of those fights.....he had saddler figured out. Saddler got very dirty in the 3rd and 4th fights, pep retaliated.

Pep at his best pre plane crash beats saddler........Saddler ranks very high top 15 p4p, but I have willie pep as #1 p4p of all time.

Pep outboxed Saddler in every fight they had, not just the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

The only one that got handled though was Pep, 3 times. :good

Even in the fight he won Pep barely survived the last round, had the fight been a round or two longer, he would be knocked out. Pep received much more physical punishment than Saddler in that fight.

If you call "handling" using blantant dirty tactics to win the 3rd and 4th fights while your behind on the cards out of frutstration, then i guess we wont agree on the defintion. Pep was past his prime for all 4 fights.

As for being past his prime, yes Pep was, but he was still beating everyone not named Saddler and most of the times comprehensively, so I don't think he was as past it as many make out.

He also beat sandy saddler dont forget and the 3rd/4th fights were controversial endings with pep well ahead. Pep was defintley physically not the same after the plane crash, hell the doctors didnt think he could walk ever again....he suffered long term physical damage he was lucky to survive. I have pep on film pre plane crash and he looks even faster sharper than he already amazingly is post plane crash. The fact pep was beating everyone post plane crash is a testament to just how great willie pep was even past his best. checkout his youtube willie pep p4p profile. No one who survives a plane crashwith a BROKEN BACK with major physical injuries is ever the same physically again.

Pep lost to sandy saddler, but saddler is an ATG top 3 featherweight of all time, freakish physical tools at 126lb he was like tommy hearns in that department.......i rank saddler in my top 15 p4p fighters of all time.

I rate pep over saddler because pep had more longevity, had a much more dominating featherweight title reign, he did manage a win over saddler when past his prime, pep had much better resume, he did much better against common opponents(saddler lost to pep victims phil terranova and humberto sierra good fighters), and on film I favor peps style over anyone in history at his best including saddler. Pep for 8 straight years dominated all his # 1 contenders, ducked no one he has the perfect title reign.
