Fingers crossed it'll stink the joint out or even better he gets rocked. I'm getting really bored of Mr Colgate fighting his procession of Seven Dwarves in an uninspiring manner and having Eddie talk about him as if he's the next coming of Lennox Lewis.

AJ represents a certain wanker demograph of boxing fan in the UK. Either football supporting coke heads and their dumb girlfriends, or actual boxing fans of the partisan variety. You know, the type that will claim ANY british boxer is better than XYZ purely cos' they're British. They lack critical thinking skills. He's a big strong 1-2 merchant in he midst of a massive PR campaign. That's it.

Think the big thing people will be looking for is the Power in this fight from AJ because there are legitimate questions now.

Takam got walloped by Chisora (yes I know it was HW shot)
AJ dropped him but couldn't properly stop him.

Whyte put Parker down twice. (again, yes i know 1 was a headbutt)
Aj won on points and didn't even shake him.

David Price shook Povetkin and Klit put him down 4 times.

Think only a KO will do for Joshua in this fight or the "casuals" will start asking questions.

Agreed. I'd like to see more aggression from Joshua. He gave Parker far too much respect.

If we look back to before the scheduled fight with Pulev, people were moaning because it would probably be a quick knockout win for AJ, and that he would need to have more competitive fights to keep the interest going.

Instead, he was extended by Takam, and didn't come close to stopping Parker. Suddenly the same casual fans who supposedly were getting bored of him blasting everyone away, are now going to turn off because he isn't knocking everyone out?

Joshua's profile was built first and foremost on his amateur success, and he wasn't a destroyer in the unpaid ranks. He was popular based on his success, backstory and telegenic qualities, rather than his punching power (he didn't stop anyone in the Olympics). His string of knockouts at the beginning of his pro career may well have flattered his power, and he wouldn't be the first fighter to have a significant drop-off in KO% after winning a title.

Casuals watch for name recognition more than anything. If they were that bothered about what goes on in the ring they wouldn't be casuals, and would be watching boxing regularly rather than the occasional big event.

Eubank for example still drew good ratings on ITV when a lot of his fights were the absolute shits.

At this point if Joshua went out and smashed Povetkin it would help him out after what Whyte did to Parker and chisora did to Takam, something he done to neither

Needs to show some spite and stop the doubters

We all know triangle theories don't work in boxing....

We all know klitschko isn't rubbish....

But aj the big wrecking machine the ko artist couldn't put takam away and chisora done it in big fashion , and Whyte roughed up Parker where aj couldlnt so regardless of who beat who a statement against pov would go some way to restoring his killer man persona

Joshua dosent need to do anything. He just needs to win, the Wilder fight will be the one he needs to go in a war and provide serious entertainment. He just needs to win this by any means necessary, as Mayweather proved you can be boring as hell in the ring, and get away with it because of pulling power.

Saying this i am sceptical of Joshua now fighting like Klitschko for the rest of his career. He keeps talking about "a good right take you around the block, a good jab will take you around the world". Worrying from a entertainment point

Completely disagree with you on this.

The casual, will see Joshua fighting a "midgit" who is old and has been knocked down and expect a KO no matter what.

Whereas with Wilder, based on Wilders power and the magnitude of the fight, people will be happy just to see AJ win in whatever way he can

Football Fans and the amount of Women Groupies who will be there, don't even know who Povetkin is. They will be fed the Hearn BS of "he is the best heavyweight after Joshua and Wilder".

Joshua-Wilder will have enourmous build-up, i think your underestimating how big that fight will be. There will be massive American/African and International intrest in that fight.

Joshua will have to deliver blood, sweat and tears as everyone tuning in will be expecting a war. If that fight turns out like Klitschko-Haye, Joshua will turn into a joke. Wilder won't as people regard him as a joke currently. And the only way to win that fight with Wilder is by knocking him the f out. Wilder has brilliant stamina and that power from 1-12, it would be ignorant of AJ to try and win it on points

I've said this before as well. Seek and destroy vs Wilder.

As his fans say, he only has to land one right hand in that 12 rounds.

    Don't give him 12 rounds
