This was bantered about in another thread. I would appreciate some thoughts on this match-up. Prime for prime.
I presume thast the catalyst for this thread was my suggesting that Tom Sharkey might have been a harder match for Roy Jones than Jim Jeffries would have been. My argument was thus: Sharkey was the only fighter of the era who was consistantly winning rounds against Corbett and getting him out of there well within twelve rounds. Jeffries and Fitzsimmons wern't doing this but Sharkey basicaly did it twice. I think that Sahrkey had a good style to neutralise clever boxers based on pressure and he would be bad news for Jones even in an eight rounder.
