People seem to be like 5-1 for bika on this board.

The odds, however, have Peter Manfredo as a slight favorites. Thoughts?

Should I make a bet on Bika. Why?

Although thats a very good bet, i think Bika is being overrated slightly on here simply because he is well liked and exciting to watch. Though i still see him as the favourite.

idk why i just think that manfredo will pull this out
i think bika is a tad overrated but i think manfredo is going to take a decision (this could be me being a manfredo fan talking)

Maybe fans are comparing how they both fared against Joe. Bika gave Joe a tough fight, while Peter was stopped. Yes, it was prematurely stopped, but he could have done much better than he did. When your given a title fight, give it your all so that you don't give excuses later on I should of did this or that. I will go with Bika, but he is fighting in Peter's backyard.

Its in Manfredo's hometown, Bika has hardly fought in the last year and stylistically Manfredo's compact and neat style should be able to get inside most of Bika's wide, looping shots.

I can see why the odds are close. I still thing Bika is the better fighter, he was just born to do it and has more ring intelligence then people give him credit for.

But all those factors make it interesting. Bika takes a few rounds to get into it but eventually finishes all over Pete...Bika TKO11.

Funny thing, didn't Peter say he was done with SMW and he was going down to MW?

Well he fought at jnr middle before contender..A lot of guys there seem to get somewhat lazy after the series and moved up a couple of divisions.
Brinkley had no place at 168.

I watched him KO a bum in a minute or so in April or something.

    I like Bika by KO.

It depends what you mean by overrated...is he a top SMW? No...but he will give a hard fight to any Top SMW...he won a good couple of rounds in a very rough brawl against Calzaghe and he outboxed Bute in the first couple of rounds. He looked like beating Beyer too, before the stoppage. It's not that easy to rough Calzaghe up and make him dig deep for the win and it's not that easy to outbox Bute for 4-5 rounds...Bika can go to war, he can brawl, he can box too, if he really wants to...he's awkward, he's dirty, he's tough and he's strong.
Am I overrating him if I say he's a lock for the Top 10 right now? Well...who are the ten better fighters than him at SMW then? Not sure what you mean when you say he's overrated. :good

The reason I think the odds are as they are: all the close rounds will be scored for Manfredo and Bika'll have to win by more than 3 or so to have a chance of getting a split decision, in my view. The referee might deduct a couple of points and even DQ Bika...But to go back to boxing reasons: Bika's only fought one round in this last year, he's not had a manager or promoter so he's had to be on the phone every day trying to promote and manage his career, when he should have solely concentrated on the fight, whereas Manfredo should be in the shape of his life, more motivated than ever after Lacy, finally having learned from the mistakes of the past, coming in with a good gameplan.
