Hmmm i remember watching that fight and unmotivated is a bull**** excuse. Calzaghe won but apart from the Hopkins and Kessler fights I dont remember Calzaghe ever looking as frustrated or happy to see the end of a fight than against Bika.
I see the logic in this one. You need at least one fighter that you know will not pull out and someone tough enough to fulfill his obligations. Bika does that. Not everyone in the tournament needs to be a potential winner. Need some stayers to give the tourny some backbone. My first choice would be Lucian Bute though. I think he would bring something different to the table. A polished southpaw and he brings in some stylistic nuances that could make fights more appealing.
yeah I mean Bute is the only other champ not in there so I guess he would be number 1 choice but like I say I just like the nightmare factor Bika brings. Plus he's been avoided his whole career so he deserves a shot at some decent money fights.
Bika v Abraham would be a very interesting fight. If Kessler was able to beat Andrade, I don't see Bika being too difficult for him.
they should put Bika vs Green on the undercard of Kessler vs Ward. Winner is in the tournament. Forget about Miranda. that's just dumb.
You're so right. If Dirrell had gotten that experience under his belt, it would have been a very different man challenging for a title belt, I think.
Bika is an Australian based African whose call to fame are his two losses to Calzaghe and Bute. Bika is very known -neither in the states nor in Germany.A financially unattractive fighter. Miranda would probably be the best replacement available out there. Green is still too green and unknown, but he has an American passport which for sure is a very import factor in the selection of a possible replacement for Taylor. Well,Miranda is American based.
He's one of the most avoided of the 168lbs fighters. He will make everyone look like crap in the Super 6. Big risk low reward. Hard bugger! I thought he was going to beat up and stop Calzaghe.
