 Imagine how frustrating it was for his opponent.

I watched "Joe looks back" on youtube with him and Bunce. They showed clips from some of his bigger fights and briefly talked about each beforehand and in one part Bunce asked him what his plans were going into this particular fight and Calzaghe said something like "honestly most the time i have no idea myself until i actually get in there" Didn't sound like he was much for gameplans.

What he's saying about Calzaghe with respects to adaptability - that was clearly on display in his fights with Hopkins and Kessler.

Johnson might have had a couple of good rounds - but Froch definitely deserved a UD in that win.

Calzaghe had an excellent ring IQ, an iron chin and an iron heart. He always found a way to win, and faced a variety of styles and opponents.

Sakio Bika knows best about Calzaghe, Ward and Bute, and if he says Calzaghe is the greatest of the three, that's enough for me. Bute is unproven, Joe would have found a way to beat Ward.

Bika´s only claim to fame, is that he has been somewhat competative against the best in the SMW division. Reality is that he lose everytime he steps above the gatekeeper level. To me he is overrated.

Magee already gave his assessments after his fight against Bute.

Yes he did, and yes he did. But it wasn't a blowout as Froch puts it.

Always wanted to see that fight too, it would have been a good one before the Super Six :yep No chance now though its a pointless fight for Carl unless its a stay busy fight but I don't think he does them anymore.

I don't think anyone really see's him as elite so I don't thinks he's really overrated. He's still better than a gatekeeper though defintely top 10-15

Magee said right after the fight that he couldn't believe how strong he was and that he considers Bute the hardest punching fighter he has fought.

Magee: "Probably the best guy I've been with"

The overrated oppinion is solely my own impression... In my book your pretty much a gatekeeper if your a top 12-15 fighter, who lose every time your facing the top 8 of the division.

:good yes it was very interesting to read Bika's positive assessment of Calzaghe, he was mostly impressed by Joe's ring IQ and ability to adjust in the ring, plus it seems that Calzaghe knew how to maximize his advantage of boxing southpaw
