    he sometimes fought to the level of his oposition,brilliant against the best fighters and just going throug the motions against lesser oponents.

    just watched it scored it to Sal by 5 points but it was alot closer but the close rounds i favoured the champ.

    i was really impressed with his patience, general ship but most importantly his econmicly style he hardly wasted a shot

    Perform his best vs lesser and less active fighters. Fighters that sat back.

    i thought Sal struggled when Castillo was moving in and out real quick with good combos but when castillo decided to stand and counter he started doing better

    i think t beat Sal you would need to move in and out with flashy combos for 15 which is near impossible

    Interesting, and take note that a guy would on have to do it (with success) for 8 rounds out of 15 rather than 15.

    Given your read, do you think Pacquiao would be a good example of a figher who has a good chance?

    oh yes mcvey they would only have to do it for 8 my mistake but they would have to survive the other 7

    pacquiao would have a chance in his current form but at featherweight he was more of a slugger and didnt use alot of movement compared to know.

    i think Sal would stop him as he could counter the wild shots like Marquez did from rounds 2-12 in their first fight. and i think he has a bit more power than JMM and would land more regularry

    Hmmmmm, maybe. The lesser fighters i am thinking of didn't pressure him or push him as much as the big guns so i am not entirely sure.

    He was at his greatest against fighters coming to him and leading. I would have liked to see him vs a quality speedster/boxer type. I would have been intrigued to see his adaptions and tactics. I think such a fighter would be his greatest challenge stylistically.

    So someone like Pep beats him out of sight?

    Let's say I say to you that most top drawer slickster would beat Foreman - total top drawer, Young and better only - would it be fair to say that all top drawer speedster/boxer types would beat Sal, a similair thing? Or do you feel that is unfair?

    Pep would be a most fascinating fight. I wouldn't automatically say he loses, but Pep would indeed push him to his absolute boundaries and it would be eye opening to see Sal try to combat him.

    Unfair. Foreman was a plodder. Sanchez is much different.

    I didn't actually say top shelf speedsters would beat Sanchez, only that they "would be his greatest challenge stylistically."

    Yeah, I agree with all of that John, aside from Pep. Pep would be the fighter to make this kid look a bit daft IMO, and both aged 22 at that.

    I'm going through a bit of a Barrera thing at the moment, but even so, I think that the same is true in reverse for those two - Sal would win that trilogy 3-0, you agree?

    I think Sal would beat him, indeed.

    As for Pep making Sal look silly, i just can't imagine anyone doing that. Could be wrong tho.
