Actually I like Marcel in this one on a 15 round decision. Sal had issues with boxers. He got past them, but many were close. It was the punchers he shined against. His counter-punching skills were made for the Lopez's, the LaPorte's, while he had some tough wins over boxers like Patrick Ford, Ruben Castillo, Pat Cowdell. I saw Marcel box the ears off of Spider Nemoto before going in for the kill and I was so impressed. Subsequent fights tell the tale of a boxer with a sharp punch and good mobility. Again, Marcel on a 15 round decision.
Bump. I can see Sanchez using his footwork set ups and baits to shut down Marcel's main weapon, the inverted 1-2 (and headbutt lol), later on in the bout. It would be extremely close though. Sanchez SD.
Here’s a matchup between an almost unknown great against a slightly overrated one. It’s a fight where Sal’s composed demeanour might find him doing to little too late. Still see him winning a disputed SD.
