Pedroza has to make it an inside fight...if he boxes from the outside Sanchez will pick him apart...my heart says Pedroza but my head says Sanchez

    Vincente Saldivar. Not Sal Sanchez.

Btw, Pedroza was better than Sanchez.

Saldivar on points in a brilliant but probably dirty fight, fairly close. I think the styles favour him more than they do Pedroza, who never looked entirely comfortable against Lockridge and Laporte when they put him under sustained pressure. His height, jab and mobility combined with Saldivar being a slow starter would probably get him an early to mid rounds lead before Saldivar started to warm up and go through the years shifting into range more and letting fly with right hooks to Pedrozas body and, crucially, that atg straight left. Pedroza would probably get dirty at this point and start to inject elbows, forearms and bolo punches to the bollocks but I don't think Saldivar would tolerate it and try to give as good as he got. Pedroza was a fantastic fighter in the late rounds similar to Saldivar and might try to slow Saldivar down earlier in the fight with bolo punches to the body and a bit of grappling to try and sap his late rounds express charge, but Saldivar was the stronger of the two imo. I don't think Pedroza would be overrun late like Winstone was but he'd lose those rounds still imo and I'm not convinced that he'd have enough of a lead after ten rounds to hold on.

Ironically, it was a fighter similar to Pedroza in style who handed Saldivar his first defeat, Baby Luis, but Saldivar did him over in the rematch by all accounts. The other fighter similar to Pedroza who Saldivar beat was Laguna, and I think Laguna was a shade better than Pedroza tbh and greater too. If Saldivar could take Laguna over 10 a(albeit in razor close fashion) and not need the 15 to catch him, I think he could take Pedroza.
