When a fighter decides to give himself an advantage over his opponent by coming in over the weight limit, the judges should score the close rounds for the opponent, not for the cheater. Salido already had the home advantage because the fight was in Texas, in front of a pro-Salido crowd. Then you add all the low blows. Then you add the fact that Loma did enough to win the fight in spite of all these factors, but got robbed. I'm just saying that without just ONE of these advantages, Loma would have knocked Salido out.:fire
Sounds like sour grapes to me to be honest. Loma should adapt to those things, home advantage well he knew that going in, low blows? well don't complain to the ref, bite on your gumshield and fire some back, also to win fights you have to throw punches and as a world title challenger you have to not leave the decision in doubt or wait until the last round to come on strong. He didn't manage himself well in the fight, but going forward it's a great learning experience for him and he probably got alot more out of losing it like he did.
Yeah cards were kinda stacked against Lomachenko here... I sort of think though that Loma saw videos of Salido, getting picked apart by the likes of Mikey Garcia, thinks to himself that hes faster, better boxer etc. But I think when he stepped up he realized 12 rounds is completely different. As is the professional scene in general. I don't think this loss will really mean that much going forward as he is quite young still, and it is early in his pro experience. I still think we will see good things from him.
Sour grapes?, didn't Salido fail to make weight?. The entire fight was a farce anyway and Lomachenko should have stepped out immediately when the loser failed to make weight.
Also I don't think enough people are crediting Solido for a great win against a very good boxer. He's probably the most improved fighter in the past 3 years, since Gamboa toyed with him he's turned into a bit of a monster.
Lomachenko went 12 rounds against a cheater who failed to make weight in only his second professional fight, that's all you need to know. Now go cheer for Amir Khan on twitter, stinky *******.
You have to be inbred to the extreme if you credit someone who failed to make weight against a fighter with only one professional fight.
In boxe, often you have to fight your opponent and also the referee and the judges. Lomachenko shouldn't have given Salido home advantage and the opportunity to have his own private referee. And when a fighter hits you low, you have just one option, and it's not to fight clean. Punch his testicles outta his mouth. If a fighter headbutts you, headbutts him back or low blow him. If a fighter elbows you, stick your elbows in his eyeballs until he's blind. Boxe is the most corrupt sport out there, since decades, since it's very beginning. You can't planning about fighting clean at all costs, or you're lost. Americans have a motto, that states: "son, if you ain't cheatin', you ain't even tryin'!". Like it or not, for disgusting that is, this is boxing. Lomachenko is too naive and not mean enough.
Too naive and not mean enough?, he was fighting a cheating scumbag who failed to make weight and a champion in the division in only his second professional fight and gave all the advantages to the scumbag. Name "meaner" fighters that did what Lomachenko did.
Yes, naive and kidlike. He shouldn't have fought Salido in texas. Look what mean and smart fighters do, they do whatever they can to have every single advantage. Ward would never fight anywere outside his city, without his referee and judges. He is the best p4p headbutter. Mayweather never gives home advantage, and always have his compliacent referees and judges. Bradley uses his head as a third fist, pushes his opponents, etc.. Now those are mean and succesfull fighters. While Loma, "i don't fight dirt, its not how i like to fight". Then, you'll never be champion. Salido is a caught steroid abuser, purposefully failed to make weight and had something like 10 pounds advantage over Lomachenko, spent his entire fight punching Loma's balls off, and when Loma comebacked in the later rounds he held for dear life. The referee never saw any low blow. THIS is how you fight dirt. THIS is how you win at boxe. Since the start of boxing, decades ago. :!: It is what it is.
Pretty much, yes. Add to that the cheating scumbag had the hometown advantage despite failing to make weight. Lomachenko's team are a bunch of fools. Surely Arum had an agenda down under for making this fight in Texas even though Lomachenko is in his stable, he can't be stupid to overlook the corruption in Texas when it comes to Mexican fighters.
