Doesn't he only want half a mil? Shouldn't he be able to get that fighting Miura or Vargas? Lomachenko makes a mil a fight. What's the problem?

Personally, I think Salido has had a great career and should be making the million dollar purses and Lomachenko should take the short money. 1 mil Salido and 700k Lomachenko seems fair to me. Or split the difference and make both 700k since they do the same kind of ratings numbers on HBO. Kovalev comes down on his price for Ward but Lomachenko is too big to do the same?

"I'd love to pay you what you're worth, but unfortunately I have this stipulation in my contract that I have to get a million dollars whether I draw or not and after I get paid there's never enough left over to pay my opponents. You understand, right?"

It's a crime that Orlando Salido has been lowballed his entire career, just like they are doing to Roman Gonzalez. If Andre Berto makes million dollar purses then Salido and Gonzalez should make rock star money.

If there is another ref like in the first fight that allows Salido 38 d**k punches per round then yes you are right......

"Orlando Salido, charity boxer, how may I help you? You want all of the money? Well, of course, you only had to ask. No, I'm not upset. That's what I'm here for. Is there anything else I can help you with? **** my wife? Have my kids call you daddy? No? Okay then, ta ta."

The funny part is that Mayweather's holding apparently made all of Maidana's fouls "fair game," yet so many people are dead silent about Lomachenko's own clinching.

It is a good score, it's a reasonable score that most people had - one point away from 115-113, big deal. Incidentally, I think there's a case for 115-113 Lomachenko, but it's reaching to me. Many top boxers incorporate fouling in order to beat their opponent - it's actually a skill. Laurence Cole was a twat referee but I also partially blame Loma's inexperience with complaining to the ref/making a fuss and just weirdly letting it happen. Welcome to the pros, they say. He's not a better fighter now but is *better equipped for the pros* from an experience like that.

Now he's believing he's entitled to massive purses and someone like Salido gets much less in comparison, to the extent that he would refuse a fight because he's overpricing himself? That doesn't sit well with me and I'm not sure Lomachenko understands the greed of Egis Klimas here, it's not really his job to.

Yup, just like UK, EE's are marginalised in society, this is probably happening in US, too...but Crawford's star power hasn't been rising that much either. Loma needs to keep fighting and watch his stock rise - try learning more English etc.

If Loma doesn't wake up to this and just lets it happen, it is going to get annoying.
He's going to be getting in the way of his own quest for greatness all for greed. He's just going to start giving off the impression that he will fight anyone ONLY if he's making a ton of money whilst his opponent makes peanuts.
His team must learn that pro boxing isn't simple. I do not want to see Loma fight another Jason Sosa let alone a Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo just because he wants a fat $1m.

Perspective: Salido in his last 4 fights is 1-2-1. He has drawn & lost to Martinez. Drawn with Vargas & beat but got dropped by a 'no name' in his last fight.

Lomachenko at this stage is destroying (even toying with) the likes of Walters, Martinez & Sosa. He's the champion, he's the guy in form, he's the 'p4p' fighter & he's the fighter currently in a better place than Salido is here. Now yes he has an official loss (it was a draw & potential DQ performance for me but whats done is done) to Salido but that was an age ago in terms of Loma's career, progress & trajectory in the sport (i.e Pac & Hagler had worse losses to inferior opposition at a much later stage in there career trajectories as they were on the up) it never hurt them.. I maintain this fight is NOW a step back for Loma & i don't think he needs him. Nor do i think it would be close this time! Salido prices himself out? Fine by me...

Perspective: How many 8-1 fighters do you know that make a million dollars? And 4 of Salido's last 5 fights were fight of the year worthy.

That Ward fight where he took 800 grand and only gave Brand 28k made me sick.

Salido is a cheating scumbag and now he wants to get overpaid because 3 years ago he got a gift.
    Everything that's wrong with boxing.

Have you even seen this man's amazing fights? What Lomachenko is to skill Salido is to excitement. What he does has worth. I'd rather see Salido fight than Lomachenko. I'd like to see them both compensated for what they bring to the table.
