I'm saying that Loma is an overpaid diva and that Salido is a veteran who's earned a payday.

When Arturo Gatti fought Floyd Mayweather Gatti's purse was 3.5 million to Floyd's 3.2. Being an exciting fighter is a valuable commodity. Nobody who's career has been as impressive as Orlando Salido's has been should "take whatever a promoter gives him." I'm talking about ****ing justice here and Salido should be a millionaire ten times over.

 

What is Salidos highest career purse? Anyone?

 

Gatti was the WBC super lightweight title holder & coming off a legit winning streak. Nor has Salido ever had close to Gattis popular appeal. Or had fights which captured the imagination like Gattis did, Ward, Robinson etc He's not Gatti... What is Salidos career highest purse? I am not having a dig as it is a worthy opponent for VL & Salido has earned his stripes sure but he is not in a massive position to dictate or inflate himself right now. Sorry.

IMO that doesn't matter so much - Loma's career highest purses have been handouts rather than based on numbers that he's actually successfully drawn himself; it's out of Arum's pocket.
Salido has the victory. He gets around $600k. He can easily take two fights against lesser fighters (Miura, Sosa) and make what he would against Lomachenko whilst still being the only guy to beat him.

Salido had a good career, stacked with good names and FOTY fights all the time. He doesn't need to face Loma again. There's no way you should be ok with Loma's team lowballing future opponents just because you're a fan - they will hold him back from attaining a great resume.

Loma will never stop hearing that he lost to Salido, who happens to be a major stylistic threat. Questions will remain unanswered.

Yeah, I wish he'd gotten more for his effort. The dude bled masterpieces onto ring canvas. I think he only made a little over 2 million for the Gatti fights. I hesitate to say what he must have gotten for the Augustus fight. Whatever he got, it wasn't enough. At least he finally got something for the movie they made about him.

 

So, I'd like to see the exciting fighters that keep me watching compensated the same way the other entertainers are.
