Maybe he should pick a couple of acres of cotton too, while he's at it?

Floyd Mayweather is wealthy today because, he didn't just "take what Bob is giving him."

Well I would hope so. He was the WORLD CHAMP fighting a dude in his second fight.

I understand where you're coming from but I just differ with the point you're trying to make. It's not a foregone conclusion that the guy who proved he's still on the top level, being number 2-3 in the division would definitely lose to Loma, who he's already beaten. Salido has the win, he believes he could win again so ultimately the point doesn't have much clout in negotiation.

They later increased the offer to $600k (according to Dan Rafa) and probably increased it further, now. If Loma REALLY wants it, he needs to be willing to dig deep for it. Salido cares to fight Loma far less than Loma/Team Loma cares to fight him. If any future opponents beats Loma, then if there's a rematch they should be entitled to a higher share than the protocol - this thus wouldn't apply to regular negotiations with a fighter who Loma hasn't fought yet.
Salido getting more in the first fight is all the more reason why he should be getting more in the second. Loma's star power has risen...but only to Salido's level according to viewing figures.

I'm personally bothered about it happening because it's a harder fight than anyone else in the division IMO and I can't really believe he's truly TBE level until he dispatches of his ultimate stylistic threats. When Loma beats him, I will not allow anyone to suspect that there's a better fighter today - Loma is on RJJ level.

If it's just a business and rational for Salido to be lowballed, then it's equally just business and rationality from him if he declines such offers (and not any kind of cowardice). Lomachenko only just now got a rating in the vicinity of Salido and even then his peak wasn't particularly close.

This is like how Pacquiao fans have been convinced Marquez is ducking the fifth fight when Manny isn't even willing to make an offer where he takes a lesser share of the pot.

Move on Loma. Salido is a step backwards. The cheat obviously doesn't want the fight. Move on.

it's only important for Loma legacy. it's clear he's more concerned than anyone on here will accept. if he lost to that leve l fighter TWICE, that's what he'd forever be tied to.

I believe fully he best him last time and believe it'll just be more clear IF next time. maybe he's not too keen on such a tough fight again.

Loma HAS to avenge that stain and literally should be willing to fight for free

Loma is the one wanting the fight he must pay, Salido knows he's the A side in the negociacion no money no fight.

I wouldn't say that he's on RJJ level. He's more skilled, but his physical abilities are levels below RJJs. RJJ was able to move from middleweight to capture a title in his fifth weight class at heavyweight. Lomachenko is having a very hard time knocking people out in his second weight class and needs refs and corners to help him out in that regard. He's just not strong and fast enough to go up five weight classes. Lightweight is probably his ceiling because people just won't respect his power.

As for better fighters today, Gonzalez is in his fourth weight class. He's not dominating the same as Loma right now, but when he was in his second weight class he was just crushing everybody. Plus, Rigondeaux is really really good even though he ain't been fighting anybody lately. All three of them are pretty astonishing.

Unfortunately for Salido, Eli Whitney made that impossible.

Lol, what? He's had three fights at 130. One was a devastating knockout against a durable guy, one was a guy quitting as soon as he took damage, the other was a guy who spars with middleweights and has an iron chin. People have been saying he is more powerful at 130.
RJJ wasn't knocking guys out regularly at light heavy. Floyd wasn't knocking anybody out. Hopkins wasn't knocking anyone out. Pac man wasn't knocking anyone out. Lomachenko isn't Malignaggi, his power is going to be respected in any weight division. Physically he is very strong, he has a background in wrestling and does one armed pull ups.
