Salido will be very big force at 126 especially that the only guy that could beat him there will be fighting at 135 and looks to stay there I believe.. Donaire's next assignment will be against Arce.. After that it should be Nishioka or Rigondeaux which can be done in a year.. Salido would make some title defense but I think he would be unbeatable especially after the moral boosting KO win over Lopez twice.. In about a year or two their roads will meet and they will have no choice but to fight each other.. Your thoughts?:bbb I'm actually picking Donaire here.. :smoke
They fight today and salido wins 2 yrs from now salido could be washed up and old after too many wars
Donaire has some killing counter punching ability unlike Juanma. Salido's style of lounging wild shots would make him pay.
I like Donaire in this one. Stylistically Lopez is perfect for Salido and I think it goes a lot like Gamboa-Salido and Donaire comes close to stopping him and wins a fairly convincing UD
At this point, I see Salido giving Donaire a beating, Donaire may break both his hands and he would not drop Salido. There's a huge difference between Vasquez and Salido, and it's also at 126, Salido also has a better defense than Vasquez, would be interesting while it lasts, imo 122 might be the last division where Donaire can be dominant, at 126 vs Salido, Gonzalez, Garcia, Gamboa, I see him getting stopped against all 4. All 4 very skilled, and all 4 with big power some more than others but all 4 are punchers. John, Caballero, De Leon, Russel, Lopez are at 126, 126 next to 135 are two of the most packed divisions, lots of talent in those 2 divisions. Seriously doubt Donaire goes on to dominate at 126, but who knows.
:good I also noticed that when Lopez tried to box (although he wasn't really looking good) it was effective..
Gonzales lost to Israel Vasquez, Penalosa, and Nishioka by KO, There's no way those three are harder puncher that Donaire.. Donaire would KO him.. :hey He would also beat Garcia, I could see him outclassing Garcia.. Garcia loves to wait too much, Donaire will pour on the jabs.. Garcia throws something, it will be answered by a counter.. I would give Gamboa a fair chance of defeating Donaire but I'll pick Donaire over Salido by UD and by KO on John, Caballero, Russel, De Leon and Lopez.. :smoke
Nah, Salido is an intelligent boxer-puncher. JuanMa has fairly okay abilities to block straight punches but can't handle looping wide shots, especially if they are timed right, hence Salido being wide, but never really wild, it's a common misconception. You better believe it'd be a much straighter and more alert Orlando in vs. Donaire, but he loses either way.
those lasses were at 122 and 118, this fight would be at 126, Donaire should just stay at 122, those 126 fighters would end his career, not all fighters can do what Pac did, but if it does happen expect Donaire to do the Vic, Donaire style. At this point Donaire is a overrated, people just expect him to jump from division to division and dominate like he has at 115, 118, 122, but time will prove otherwise, I'll bump this in 3 years from now, I doubt Donaire can destroy all comers all the way up to 130 even 135 like some would like to believe.
I've seen hundred of comments where people describe Salido as just a come forward fighter with no defense at all, hen in fact he has a solid defense, Donaire vs Salido would be great, they should make it, but Donaire won't take it, he's smart enough to know he's in over his head at this point in time, maybe in a few years.
Good post although I feel gamboa beats donaire. I doubt he'd KO John though. Although a protected fighter he is still world class. Id pick donaire by UD (not like the fight would happen) but apart from those two points feel your spot on. 130 would be pushing it for me though. I feel Broner would be far to strong for donaire although I wouldn't say it's a sure victory, he'd definatley be favourite.
Stylewise, Salido's looping punches would be easily countered by Donaire. I figure if they were the same size, Donaire would outbox him and probably score a kncokdown or two. But right now it's too soon to tell, the guy landed at 122, let him get comfortable for a while.
:good From 126- 130 the only clear problems there for Donaire would be Gamboa(if he's coming back at 126 or maybe 130), Broner, and Salido.. But I'd still give the rank fighters a good chance of not getting KD/KO..
Broner stylewise would be a disaster for donaire Gamboa is a tossup Salido will get kayoed by donaire :hey
