Loma should get more experience before getting a rematch with Salido.

no mention of cole? he's the reason salido won. lomachenko was fighting salido and cole at the same time. i actually thought lomachenko did enough to get the decision. they jobbed him.

floyd came in at 146 which was below the limit. fyi...floyd never agreed to a catchweight. jmm had no leverage to ask for one. floyd paid the money to shut them up.

salido didn't even try to make weight. big difference.

:patsch Floyd paid the money because he didn't honor the contracted weight of 144. You really think Floyd would screw himself $600,000 if he didn't agree to that contract? Both fighters agreed to it Floyd didn't do it to shut them up he HAD to pay it whether he wanted or not. You're right, Salido tipped the scales at 128-129 and 147 fight night, but Loma was also 136, its not like Loma couldn't do 147 either, but his style doesn't benefit from it. Fight could of been a draw, but Siri is past his prime, it's only natural he move up like most fighters do.

Loma's fans don't hold any impact on how Loma himself treats it. He handled the Salido loss like a soldier; no excuses, no whining, and the right attitude to learn from it and get better.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he made the same tactical mistakes the next time around, which is one reason I want to see the rematch. Let's see just how much the kid's learned.

We all know Loma will kill salido if they fight again.

    Regarding the first fight

Loma didn't seem to understand how this game is played
Although generally unimpressed, I thought he was smart to preserve his energy for the probability of fighting late rounds with a guy like Salido, who you can count on to be there until the end. What bothered me was his output. He was simply not active enough.

I get that Salido defied every rule in making weight and then exacerbated it by coming in huge, so big that ,most of Loma’s good shots seemed to have little effect. I also realize he used every dirty trick he could get away with during the fight. And the fact that Laurence Cole …. is the absolute worst. But this is professional boxing in Texas and if you want to win, you better be THAT much better than the other man. And Loma simply wasn’t.

His punches may have been cleaner. His face showed very little wear and tear, so his defense is proably better than it may have looked. He hurt Salido badly late which says a lot about his own stamina. And he was gracious as hell in defeat. (No whining!)

But Vasyl, you gotta get with the program. A man hits you low, whack his balls. He headbutts you, smack him back. This was Texas, boxing’s the Wild West and to win, you needed to be Eastern Promises. I like this guy’s attitude a ton. Let’s see what happens with some seasoning.

One last point, Mikey Garcia is on another level. An altogether ’nother level. He man handled Salido. Beat him like a rookie in with a vet..

i predicted floyd wasn't going to weigh in at 144. i knew just from what he was saying in the interviews. i don't recall if there was a clause...or if the payment was a last minute resolution...but imo, jmm didn't have the leverage or clout to force floyd to fight at 144.

u take cole out and put a competent ref in that fight and lomachenko wins it easily. salido got away with a **** load of low blows.

Agreed. There were no excuses from Lomachenko in the post fight interview, even though he had good reason to moan – ineffective ref, an opponent who didn’t even try to make weight, being thumped in the nuts all night long…

    We do?

He may well win, but he could even drop him the first time.

And Salido goes down more than (insert witty joke about hookers here)

    Yes, we do.

When Lomo let his hands go, namely in the 11 and 12 rounds, he hit Salido at will and had him read to go.

    But he didnt.

If a guy is anything like a puncher, he should be able to at least drop Salido once.

Loma schools Salido in a rematch. He had him figured out in the last 4-5 rounds of the first fight and almost put him on his ass in round 12.

    Loma by UD.

I predict Loma will be in the P4P list in a few years.
