mitchell made a common mistake on this forum, he boxed, and boxed well used skills and made his opponent miss rather than blocking with his face. Imagine that, he should have just gone in swinging and got himself ko'd. Disgrace :deal
Salita may have been a mandatory opponent, but so was Gary Lockett when he fought Kelly Pavlik. I can't fault Khan's performance last night, but "mandatory" and "handpicked" are not mutually exclusive terms in boxing.
Kahn beat a half decent fighter, very impressively. It was his mandatory defence, he's 22yrs old and still a kid. Plenty of top class fighters are only turning pro by the age of 22, Kahn is a world champion. Folk need to remember he's still developing, and is maybe 6-7 years away from his peak. I honestly think Kahn is going to develop into a very special fighter, he's got all the tools (although still unanswered questions about that chin), and in Roach, a world class trainer who compliments Kahns style... but we'll see what happens over the next decade. Kahn knows only too well that one devestating punch can change all the best made plans and predictions.
