Real shame this for Willie but Kotelnik brings a world title. Team Salita has announced that Dmitriy Salita will challenge WBA super lightweight champion Andreas Kotelnik on November 8th in Madison Square Garden. The bout will be broadcast live on HBO PPV as part of the Roy Jones-Joe Calzaghe undercard. Kotelnik-Salita is subject to Kotelnik's title defense on September 13.
I see the 'first easy defence syndrome' kicking in again atsch That would have been a good fight for Limond - a 50-50 affair as he was stepping up in weight.
I know Willie posts on here but I didn't see the Salita fight as 50/50, I thought it was winnable for Limond but would have been a big task away from home and moving up in weight.
I do feel for Limond. He has had a couple of setbacks recently - think Graham Earl withdrew with a damaged hand from their June fight date and now this.
I think Limond needs a keep busy fight pretty soon and then hopefully another crack at the top Euro guys. Him in with Murray would be interesting. I do not think he is big enough to stay up at light welter.
well i dont know that.it depends what options are availbel:he could defend his ibo intercontinetal belt ;another option is becse he holds that belt he could go for the full title. he is ranked 79 by the ibo at the moment though.
