Got tickets to the Khan Salita fight, and I don't know much about Salita, anyone tell me much about him or recommend some of his fights?

It's a shame that there's more youtube videos talking about his faith then actually about his boxing ability.

Decent boxer with some a nice skill set.He has ok power but nothing to say Khan's in deep trouble but he isn't going to be a knock over the lads unbeaten and fancies his chances. He boxes off jab and holds hands high...he throws a variation of punches and has good ringcraft.

I'm not looking forward to the fight but i won't count this lad out as he probably can attack Khan better then what Kotelnik did as he has a more aggressive streak then Kotelnik.

^ Plus it's his first pop at a belt; he'll be up for it.

^^ yep spot on he won't be coming for payday this kid's a serious boxer he wants this title. He's fighting for his faith and his people so that will have a part to play in his mindset.

It's the first Islam vs Judaism world title fight in history. Interesting for that point alone.

There's every chance this could turn out better than expected. Two young, hungry, confident guys going at it for a major strap; we should think positive.

I'm almost certain that you are wrong but can't remember where/when/who the protagonists were. It'll come back to me

yeah i do see what your saying Dan...my worry is do i fall for it again like the last fight and think it could be a decent fight...the more i think bout it stylistically and also looking and thinking about what Salita brings to the table i'm now becoming more open to buying the ppv but then i think that i was fooled before and i think i will only buy it if it has a proper stacked under card or the Williams-Pavlik fight on after. As a fight by itself i'm actually starting to think it could be a pretty good fight.

I thought of Rossman-Qawi but when I checked it was a non-title fight.

Salita is pretty decent actually, no special effects but he does the basics fairly well, good jab, decent leverage and has a good variety. the negatives are thats he very pedestrian Khan will look super fast and beat him to the punch, Salita also has static feet and head and not much power, he is somewhat methodical and has a tendency to ignore combinations and look clueless at times from poor shot selection.

I see Khan winning this fairly comfortabily on the cards, potshotting, going in and out, slightly like the Kotelnik fight, just peppering arms/guard occassionally getting through and just being too speedy for Salita....it WILL be competitive though, i'm not too mad at this fight tbh, for a first mando its not too bad, i'll give them a pass...It certainly could've been worse.

I guess Ross and Leonard would be good starting points?
