I was older than you when it happened but it sure was a shock when I heard the news. I don't even remember where I was or what I was doing but I think I may have heard a short mention on the nightly news. No internet in those days of course so it was hard to get a lot of information, especially since I lived in a small midwestern town. Anyway, to a great champion...Remembered always.
Wow! It was that long ago? My Grandfather told me about his death when I arrived home from school. That was sad news.

He went with a friend from Hammonton, New Jersey to watch Salvatore Sanchez fight Azumah Nelson, a short time before Mr. Sanchez died. I am sure he liked Salvatore Sanchez.
