Tonnes of top class boxers, such as Roy Jones Jr and James Toney, rank Sanchez as a top 3 fighter of all time. He was way before my time admittedly, how do you guys rate him? This content is protected
Extremely underrated, But such is life when you die at such a young age. & a loooooooong time ago at that.
It's crazy that one of the most celebrated champions with 46 fights under his belt, victories against hall of famers, and only one disputed loss in his career is "underrated" and yet, here we are.
Yea !! who, when, no way, not since I have been on this site, he is generally ranked/rated alongside or just below the likes of Chavez and Olivares, sometimes Zarate, and above Saldivar, if that's underrated then I need to go back to school. stay safe Flo.
We have a guy here on the forum that is such a big fan of this dude...his name...I can't remember his name but he's got this other dude's name IN HIS NAME because he's that big of a...I can't think of the word. An appreciator? Anyways, can't wait till he comes here, to this great thread.
Dont really know much about him but have to respect his title run because all of his opponents seemed to be on a good run and most of them were multiple title challengers and his bear a good fighter to win the title or great I don't know much about that era but all fighters back then didn't worry about unbeaten records they fought win lose draw didn't cry about it and moved on they sure were made from different stuff back then
He's not underrated. He gets tons of play on forums and groups, and he's regularly argued as the greatest Mexican fighter of all-time. If anything he's slightly overrated. He's widely labeled as prodigy and that's fine, but some of his attributes get inflated as a result. Sanchez has become someone seen as capable of "doing it all" by many, which isn't quite accurate. He wasn't a big puncher and he had issues with boxers who made him lead. I don't think he did enough inside the ring to rank above someone like Chavez, either. If anyone is underrated, it's Vicente Saldivar.
He was a fantastic fighter. I think he was even better than Julio Cesar Chavez. I think he may have been the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Excellent boxing brain.
One of my all time favorites. Just a fantastic boxer at such a young age. If he lived he would undoubtedly be one of the greatest of all time. His skill set was off the chart. Was heartbreaking to hear of his untimely death.
I'm a huge Chaves fan but Sanchez did more in his short time and we never got to see him in his prime
