Prime "Rockabye" Ruben stepping up to 126 for the first time against a Prime 126 lbs. Champion Salvador Sanchez. It doesn't get any better than this! 15 Rounds.

I see a similar result as the Sanchez - Gomez fight. I can't think of anybody I'd favor moving up in weight over Sanchez.

Sanchez was a counter-puncher who shone against the big bangers, but looked less than stellar against the boxers. Olivares, despite his KO numbers was much more than a banger. He was a body-puncher, a counter-puncher, a master at breaking a fighter down methodically, he had a jab and could box beautifully when he wanted to, as he did in the second Hafey fight. I don't believe he would have dented Sanchez' chin but I would pick Ruben on a 15 round decision.

Scar has a point, Ruben could box very well when he decided too, and to beat Sanchez he would have too. He had the speed and ability. Still I think he would come at him and Sanchez, picking his spots, would catch him with precision straight punches. A close enough fight but Sanchez clearly.

I don't think Ruben had the ability to outbox Sanchez at all, even if he was able to do so for a period against a younger Arguello who wasn't as skilled in that regard and fought with a different style.
