Yes, your using a very young Langford on Sullivan's predictions with Johnson's name attached to it. Show me the twice floored for long counts, I think that's BS.

What fighters say when they are looking for a fight has its own meaning. DUH.

What we both know dishonest Jack Johnson ran away from a signed contact to fight Langford in 1909 as champion. This is even a bigger duck than Dempsey avoiding Wills. I love how you jump to Box Rec when you need to and quote the best from Moyle when you feel like it. Moyle says Langford was 20, Sam says he was in his 140's, and you tell me which heavyweight Langford beat prior to facing Johnson?

The good news for you is I have a busy week and won't spend time correcting your lies in this thread. So put in your last word, not admitting Johnson clear duck, or which heavyweight Sam had beaten poor to facing Johnson.

    Have fun.

    1) this thread is about Sullivan vs Langford

    2) I'm a previous thread you had already been shown why Langford was a top ten HW when Johnson beat him

    3) no one in history disputes Langford got better after this fight with Johnson

No I'm not, I'm using a Langford who was being prepped for a rematch with Johnson. The long counts are in Moyle's book and Pollack's Johnson1st vol also Nat Fleischer's father in law A D Phillips mentions them, that's three verified sources."The referee began to count and Johnson stood by waiting to hit Sam again should he rise. After what seemed to many in attendance as a very slow count Sam rose at "nine".page55. Sam Langford Clay Moyle.Always happy to produce PROOF and to make you look the four letter word you are! You not being here is immaterial to me, but it will be a nice break for the posters who keep getting their threads hijacked by you, so dont hurry back!LOL Now perhaps we can get back to the thread?

In Unforgivable Blackness Johnson's then manager said Langford was down for sixteen seconds for one kd.
Which heavyweight?Black Fitzsimmons.Joe Jeannette those two do for you?lol

Why do you fail to grasp that fighters age differently?

He wasn't swarmer, although he sometimes pressured bigger and stronger men.

His style wasn't comparable to Dempsey's at all.

He had comparable power and speed to Dempsey.

Not really since Dempsey was more agressive and more explosive which means a bit fasters!
Also Demosey was bigger man with bigger punching power also I could add Dempsey bigger KO ratio against better oposition!
Dempsey had power while Langford and Greb would wear you down!

Yes but still didn't have that KO ratio and his ratio was low against HWs!
He scored most of his KOs against MW/SMW!
Dempsey had better KO ratio against big guys!

As mcvey said, Langford had countless of early KOs against heavyweights. Comparing Langford to Greb in terms of punching power doesn't make any sense.

    Yes but against which HW?
He lost against Jack Johnson and admit that!
    Wills beat him few times!
    Blackbourn beat him!
You can't say that Gans,Tiger and Ketchel are HWs like Langford wasn't!!
    Willard,Tunney,Sharkey,Carpentier,Firspo,Fullmer...were much better HWs
