Sam Bowen born 04/02/1992 is a 5'8 Super Featherweight with a 13-0 9 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Ibstock, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. A decent amateur with 93 wins, including wins over hot prospects Joe Cordina and Chris Kongo, Sam has been boxing since he was 11, and he's had a killer instinct since he was little. When he'd lose decisions with a driving force to win, he wanted immediate rematches so he could rectify the situation. He's one of the best prospects the UK has to offer at the moment, his bobbing and weaving defense is deceptively slippery, his hands are deceptively fast, he has a piston like hurtful jab, and is a wicked combination puncher. He has power in both hands and is a come forward wrecking machine who focuses on the body very well, and finds openings most miss, and when he can't find one, he makes one. He's incredibly underrated, another possible Ritson in the making. Check Out Sam The Bullet Bowen In Action. I was impressed how he dealt with Hughes who's a capable British level fighter. He can certainly get to Euro level.
Just up the road from me this lad. Loves his bodywork and he's gonna be hard to shift at British level. European I can easily see him reaching
Fighting this weekend on the Catterall vs OD show. Will be the first I see of him. Looking forward to it.
His opponent his an Argentine who's only been stopped once, it'll probably be twice come Saturday night, he looks rugged enough to make Sam work for it, but not enough of a test to truly push him to his limit.
Keep an eye on Woodstock Jnr. vs Archie Sharp on the same undercard. Winner of that is destined to face Bowen at some point in the near future based on how willing Warren seems to be at matching his prospects against eachother. It's refreshing really, even with the Catterall vs OD a lot of promoters would have kept them apart and waited for individual title shots.
The few times I've seen Woodstock he was pretty dreadful, it'll probably be one of those Taylor-Davies situations when they finally meet, where all the hype is behind Woodstock and the knowledgeable fans backing Bowen.
Im backing Archie Sharp to upset Woodstock. It's hard to judge cause Sharp hasn't been in with anyone above journeyman level but I just have a feeling.
It wouldn't shock me at all, Woodstock is far too open for counters, he's a KO waiting to happen. You should go put up a Red Alert on my Defcon thread.
I don't think it's listed in Kirks league this month, this would just be a bragging rights prediction
