Sam Eggington 1993-10-15 is a 5'11 Welterweight with a 21-3 13 KO's record. Born in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom and fighting out of Stourbridge, Worcestershire, United Kingdom. While I highly doubt Sam will ever prove to be a world beater or even a top ranked guy at Welterweight or Light Middleweight, I like him, he's fun to watch, so I'm doing a thread on him. Don't be deceived by his record, its not nearly as bad as it seems , yes he has 3 losses, but in the UK they have a barely pro Prizefighter Tournament similar to WSB, only the matches like the amateurs are but a mere 3 rounds, and two of his losses can be attributed to that. 3 rounders don't really play to Sam's strengths, he's more of a grinder than a one punch KO kind of guy, it takes him a few rounds to find his rhythm and get going, but once he does, he usually wears down his opponents and takes them out in the middle rounds. His other loss came at the hands of Bradley Skeete who in my humble opinion is an undefeated fighter, he beat Gavin and was robbed, anyway Skeete is a hyper defensive retreating and very dull counter puncher, he's somewhat of a FMJ clone only not as good or exciting, so maybe it was a little too much too soon for a 22 year old kid with little amateur experience to be asked to pull off, he lost the match, but had his moments, no big deal. His setback made him stronger later that year he was the underdog going in with the crafty Gavin, and not only did he beat him, but he beat his ass, like maybe worse than the Brook ass beating he received. So the win over Gavin has given me a little renewed faith in the kid, and fingers crossed, he can build his way up into being a action fighter and a draw, because this sport needs its tatted up scrappy brawlers and lood and guts warriors to keep fans interested alongside its P4P stars. Not to sell him short, he's got decent skills as well, fairly good jab at times, and a decent combination puncher at times, but gets way too wild too often. So Check Out Savage Sam Of Birmingham, a very good ham and egger.

Up next for Sam is a decent step up in class, he's taking on Paulie Malignaggi on the Haye-Bellew undercard, and hopefully beats his ass into retirement.

Love the way this kid dragged his way to world level ranked the hard way
He needs to steam roll Paulie because the levels in skill are vast but I will not write this egg off

    He's a tough egg!

Will be interesting to see him against Paulie, I think he can win but he needs to turn it into a war.

Yes, I lean that way too. But if he's dumb enough to try to outbox Paulie he's definitely losing a decision.

I hope Sam annihilates Paulie in a supremely brutal fashion.

Paulie is way too experienced to be dragged in to a war.

Paulie prides himself on being a thinking mans boxer and he doesn't lose to the Eggingtons of this world.

I know Frankie Gavin is considered to be elite on this forum because he's Kell Brooks 2nd best win but even Paulie would ice him.

Sam is massively underrated. Amazing stamina and a cast iron chin. I think he stops Paulie.

Can't see Eggington beating Paulie after seeing how much Skeete out boxed him

If this fight wasn't in England, Malignaggi decisions him wide in my mind. Eggington is no Shawn Porter

I think Paulie will outthink Sam in there, i also don't think they will rob as he works for Sky. If Sam can beat Paulie that's a good win for him.

Willie Nelson should write a song for you mother****ers. Because GGG is always on your mind, he's always on your mind.
