Yes it was a fair result, the scorecards should have been wider though. Eggington didn't have much success at all and Hogan outboxed him comfortably. It's a shame for him because he was on a good run and going out to Australia didn't make the most sense, so I hope he got paid good money for it. Back to the drawing board for him.

Thanks for letting me know. When i saw he lost on a majority decision i was half expecting he was robbed knowing how the home fighter is normally favoured. But you know your boxing so i am satisfied it was the right result

Least it was a fair decision he can live with that. And credit to him for traveling there. Like others said, hope he got paid well.

Very fair decision and he was well beat on the night.

Looked a very jaded Eggington in there.

I hope he can walk way from the sport soon with enough money to fund his next ventures.

Brutal career so far, there can't be much more in the tank and the punishment has to be getting too much.

Always been one of my favourite domestic fighters. A very entertaining fighter, hopefully he can rebuild after this.

Didn't see the Hogan fight yet, but he looked very jaded and somewhat wasted against Przemyslaw Zysk back in June, to the point where I wondered if coming back down to 154 after eighteen months had taken a toll. I thought he performed really well against Jkitou at middleweight.

Strange that he took a fight like that when he was in the form of his life. The money must have been good but although he's only 28 with his style he can't have much left.

Possibly as he did not look himself in there last night.

It was just not happening against an opponent that I would have him slight favourite to beat away from home.

Hopefully it is not a long hard career catching up with him as he has been in some seriously great fights.

Sam comes across as a thoroughly decent guy who is in the sport for the right reasons, he loves boxing and his family and boxing has paid him better than his delivery job and helped him provide for them. A great professional with a real old school feel about him, never in a boring fight.

The man is back, fourth round stoppage last night of James McCarthy (2-5-1). Obviously he's fighting a bit of a tomato can but he's now 33-8, a 41 fights over 10 and a half years and I think there's a few decent domestic fights for him to have at 154 before he retires. Kelly, Williamson, James Metcalf to name but three. Personally I'd love to watch Egginton vs Lejarraga, that would be an all out war.

Eggington would get badly hurt/knocked out by all those guys...hard to see where he really goes from here as he's already lost to a few British level guys.

Maybe someone like Conway or Fowler.

You think? He gave Cheeseman a really tough fight and a mismatch with Smith and one misjudgement aside he's hung with everyone he has fought. He might not win but he'll be a tough fight for any of them, especially Kerman Lejarraga.
