Sam Eggington returns to the ring in April against Lee Cutler in what I'm sure will be a great domestic match up.

My question is: Is there a more gutsy, likeable British boxer than Sam Eggington?

Past or present. Always comes out to fight, hardly seems to be in a fight that's not entertaining. Comes across well in interviews. Doesn't do excuses for losing and always bites his gum shield and gets on with it. I think he's one of my favourite fighter of recent times.

Certain of entertainment in any Eggington fight. Gutsy, gives it 100%, fights fire with fire. Consistently involved in wars - the guy deserves so much respect.

Happy he's got another opportunity and hopefully he's getting a decent pay day. If more fighters were like him British boxing at a domestic level would be box office, imagine if every card had 1 or 2 Eggington style wars on

I've said it before but how he does it have a contract with a TV based promotion baffles me

    Always in good fights

I just remember that fight when he was deliberately letting Malignaggi hit him in the head and then asking for the crowds approval when he took the shots... that was grim and awful... I didn't enjoy watching that in any way.
Obviously Paulie was never a hard puncher, but it was disturbing to watch the way he just left his head there as a target in that fight.

I fear that the years when his chin was his first line of defence will take their toll and hope he'll retire with enough money to have made it all worthwhile and enough sense to keep it. He's been written off a few times, always bounced back and he's been the most exciting boxer in hhe country.

You've got to wonder about the folk who say "he's got out with all his faculties" about any boxer. Look at the amount of rugby players getting demntia early etc. None of these boxers have all their faculties when they retire. Some will be better off than others but they've all taken blows and that will take its toll sooner or later.
