People praise Pacquiao for going from 106-150 and being 8 division champion when 145 and 150 are not divisions. Sam Langford never won a title but went from knocking out lightweights to knocking out heavyweights while being partly blind. the guy doesnt get talked much about but is top 5 ATG in a lot of lists. in my opinion i think he could be considered the best by many. the guy fought Jack Johnson and lost a controversial decision, people think Pacquiao fighting a guy without much skill but weights 15 lbs more is great. Langford was 29 lbs lighter than Jack Johnson a future heavyweight champion and still managed to win in the people's eyes. NO film of him available but i looked up the guy and what he did is just great in my eyes
Can we agree than that Sam langford is the GOAT? Followed by Pac then ...........................................................................Mayweather? Based of course on your argument.
I've got him second behind Greb. If you want to place him at number one, I wouldn't argue - just as I wouldn't if you put Greb, Robinson, and Armstrong in that position.
Thats only part of it, i mentioned it because people have made a big deal out of Pacquiao, i give him his respect im just saying it was done before when not all of the technology we have now was available
I can agree with that i just wanted to put something else out there because it seems that having SRR as the number 1 is a requirement of lists now in days.
It's not a requirement, but he definitely has the footage on his side that a Greb or Langford don't with an incredible resume to match. Outside of those two, who else is in his range: Henry Armstrong? This content is protected
I get your point. But there are only two people who have done it. If you trivialize someone accomplishment because someone already did it earlier, it is like saying that setting afoot in the moon is not so great because there are 11 others who went there.
I think either of those four can fight for it, but if you look at lists is not a requirement but it has almost become a habit of just putting SRR at #1, im not saying he doesnt deserve though
