I decided to finish this "debate" today. I just don't like when people keep telling lies even after long discussion without any arguments. Because of people like Al-Ghul, many keep telling myths about my favorite sports - I'm mostly a fan of basketball and one biased man said once that Wilt Chamberlain was a "choker" and now 75% of basketball community calls him so. I think I can call nyself NBA history expert and that's far from the truth. People keep saying this though. That's why I argue with people like him. Because I don't want to see boxing fans saying that Langford didn't know how to jab or that he had worse boxing skills than Bob Sapp.
Fair enough, but it's a double-edged sword. Arguing with him just gives him more of a platform to expound. By the way, Elgin Baylor's my man!
In half a century of boxing I've never read that Sam was an alcoholic or that he had a damaged liver. His one eye gone while still boxing, when he was found living in dire poverty as an old man he was essentially blind but not a drinking man.
Any Canadians here? Are they teaching or even mentioning Sam Langford in any of their Grade school subjects? I came across a list of 100 Greatest Canadians and Sam Langford was not even mentioned.
