Good one. I'll go with... Langford. Just because I think Frazier was most effective fighting short, using his bob and weave to get under an opponents attack, but he wouldn't be able to do that very well against the 5'7" Langford. Who knows, though? I got three hours of sleep last night and am not thinking properly because I really have to take a **** but I'm so damn tired I don't want to get up and do it, so I'm really not in the proper state of mind to be making accurate picks in a fantasy boxing match.
I think Frazier wins this one. He'd actually be much bigger than Langford here and would be too much for him with his relentless attack. He would make Langford work very hard but in the end Frazier overpowers him.
What a war this one would be...I'd like to read some opinions from our historians on this one. McVey, this is a brutal fight...I'll lean towards Joe Frazier for the win.
I like Langford by late stoppage maybe the 12th or 13th,both in their prime I think Sam has the edge in two-fisted versatility and boxing skills.Langford was used to conceding height and weight to opponents at 36 and 37 he still went 15 rds with the 6' 3 '' 22O lbs Wills,I just see him as an overall better fighter ,and at least on a par as a banger ,but from both hands.A real war.
Is this an era related pick? I don't think Frazier could stop Langford in 15 attempts. But I go with Joe via pressure and guts over 15 rounds.
I'll stick with the safest and most sensible opinion, no prediction. Because I've never seen Langford fight.
