He would have not got into the ring with him, liston would have just looked at him and he would have **** himself
That´s bull**** if some of you thinks Liston easily bombs him out, how many fighters of Langford´s calbibre had Liston "bombed out" ? The shaky Patterson doesn´t count, Sammy had an iron chin...
Langford is 5'-8". The size diference is just insurmountable. Williams' chin was just as good as Langford but he was taller and bigger and more powerful, and look what Liston did to him.
I can almost guarantee that this wouldn't be the case. People really seem to think that Langford has no chance...that's interesting. It's unlikely that, Ali aside, Liston would have been in with a man as brave and skilled as Langford. To beat Sonny I'd suggest you need the following: Iron jaw, great courage, good punching and great footwork - you must also be elusive with your body. Langford checks the first four boxes, I wonder how elusive he could make himself v Sonny?
Luigi,I gather from some fo your posts you don't like Sonny. You got your reasons thats fine with me.He is one of my favorites,I think Sonny would knock him out,not easily, cause there are not too many easy ko's.I believe they did fight in Monte Cox's computer tourney, with Liston scoring a Ko.
I love Liston too, and he was a great puncher. But Langford was one of those guys that was just a nightmare to stop and for a variety of reasons.
Langford at most would last two rounds against Sonny. But then again, Sonny was floored by that Marty Marshall character, so who knows.
