OK, I understand that Langford is a lot to take in.

Yes, he really was that good.

He was a finisher in the same class as Dempsey and Louis, perhaps better in terms of a single shot.

Langford wasn't small per se, he was just stunted.

Hewas basically a sawn off Tyson.

If you could have made him 6' 1' by stretching him (not scaling him up), he would have been almost unbeatable.

Love Langford but come on .. maybe a puncher's chance but it would look like George vs Qwai in size ..

I agree but I actually think there may be many similarities .. Qwai was the same size with a 4" shorter reach .. he was very strong, had a terrific chin, had terrific defense but was no where near the puncher Sam was ..

Lets look at it another way....
Does anyone here think Harry Wills is a bigger test than Prime Foreman?

Lol again what people with your low level intelligence can't understand. People of that era were for less skilled. I don't even know if they had amateur boxing back then. They were basic. They also boxed in smaller gloves which meant more knockouts. You will say but he beat guys like Harry Wills who was 6'2 205. Wills fought in that same joke era.

Langford was a 5'7 180 pound who for the most part fought guys who were that sized. Even if he was a live today guess what? He would realize how small he is compare to modern heavyweights and would of fought at light heavyweight.

Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, either Klistchko brother, Tua ,Foreman would brutalize Langford, Dempsey, Marciano, Wills, Tunney all in the same night.

This is Harry Wills. Of course he was past his prime but look at how unskilled he was. A bunch of grabbing and trying to punch close. No jab or anything else.

Wow look at the skill of Langford. You see how he isn't jabbing. Just throwing wild hay makers without setting them up? Clearly his skills are light years above any other fighter who came along afterwards. You know because people who don't know boxing and are older live in this fantasy world that every fighter back in the day was better than modern fighters.

A 160 pound fighting beating Foreman. God some people are stupid. You know what? Julian Jackson would knock out Wladimir Klitschko as well.

Sam Langford started his career weighing 140 or so. You can look at all of the draws and loses he had in his prime. He lost to 130 pound Danny Duane who at the time was 26-10, Jack Blackburn was 130 pounds and beat Langford, Dave Holly weighed 130 pounds and beat Langford, Dave Holly also knocked down Sam, Larry Temple a middleweight who was 10-3 beat Sam easily, Joe Jeannette who was 180 to 190 pounds in his prime and was only 4-1 the first time the fought knocked out Sam in 8, Jack Johnson who was 186 pounds beat Sam, Young Peter Jackson who a welterweight knocked out Langford in 5, Jim Barry who started his career at middleweight was able to knock down Sam and sprain his ankle, Fireman Jim Flynn who was a natural 170 or so pound fighter beat Sam and bloodied him up badly. This is all a prime Langford.

As I said there was no amateur boxing back then. You can see how many guys Sam had with losing records. You can just go to YouTube and find various footage of the era to see how unskilled these guys were compared to modern guys. So many staged fighters, so many guys taking dives for money.

Combine all of this together it still shocks me how simple minded people can be. Most of you clearly aren't true boxing fans. I assume you watch boxing because when you aren't watching your gay porn you like to watch guys fight without their shirts on. Everything you type is something (wrong) you hear somebody else say.

There are weight classes for reasons. Nobody is above them. If a 130 pound fighter could knock down Sam and knock him out you think Foreman couldn't and wouldn't? Hilarious.

Langford would have to be peeled off the rafters.

Is there any difference in the skill level of Ruiz and Wills? They look very similar to me.

There is a debate to be had on that one.

George Foreman as a teenager was listed at 6'3 1/2 230. Wills was 6'2 205 pounds. If you can't understand which one is bigger I suggest you spend less time on a boxing forum talking about a sport you clearly know nothing about and spend more time trying to learn basic knowledge.

John Ruiz or Andy Ruiz? Well it doesn't make a difference since they were both more skilled than Wills which isn't saying much.
