Lol I see that. But I am just trying to be bring something more than repeating what I heard to this forum. As a kid I would hear Foreman was 217 in his prime. You know because that is how much he weighed when he fought Frazier. Then I started checking for myself. I think Foreman became a amateur at 17 and fought that way until he was 19 and was listed at 6'3 1/2 and 230. For whatever reason they though making him lighter would be better, which is funny since now days you see guys 6'2 and weigh 270 pounds because think it will help. Something else that I realized after studying stuff myself. You know Foreman only got tired in 1 fight in his prime? He suffered a heat stroke vs Young which has nothing to do with poor stamina. Foreman only went the distance in 3 of his wins. Neither one of these fights was he tired. But because he got tired in one fight it means he has bad stamina according to people who don't know boxing.
I am not disputing who was bigger, and I do not consider it a major issue here. I am saying that Wills might have provided a more challenging test in some respects. While I regard Foreman as the greater fighter of the two, I suspect that Wills was the more complete fighter.
You should be aware that many referees of the period did not score jabs. They would score for a fighter landing a cross, but might disregard the jab completely. This understandably made fighters reluctant to rely too heavily upon the jab.
Touching story. The point is they didn't throw jabs. They spent more of their time in the ring grabbing and throwing wild punches. You bore me, you boxing knowledge is lacking and I won't spend any more time typing to you. Blocked/Ignored.
you are exaggerating, in fact stylistically i see dempsey doing pretty well against wladimir and lewis, marciano would not be a walk in the park for bowe. and tunney would give foreman a run for his money, finally george would catch him but it would not be a one sided beating
What have I done!!!!!!!!!!! I really must try to ensure that my opinions don't offend anybody in future!
you are a good guy, i consider you a bit biased respect to the old school guys but you talk always with respect
Right but the thing you don't realize is you are ******ed. I can say Pernell Whitaker could beat Anthony Joshua because that would be my opinion but that opinion would make me ******ed. If you think a 180 pound fighter could beat a modern sized fighter then you have mental problems. You know what happens to people with mental problems? I block them, there is no point in trying to explain anything to a ******ed person. Bye bye.
I don't believe you're actually offending anybody - but I can see, how some posters may find your condescending tone irritating!
