You left out he was blind in both eyes, his hands were broken, his wife had left him, his brother committed suicide, the judges were crooked, he was poisoned, he took a dive for money, and it was snowing.

Why'd he lose to Jeff Clark, Gunboat Smith, Fireman Jim Flynn, Young Peter Jackson, Larry Temple, Dave Holly, and Danny Duane? I picked those defeats out of the middle of his career.

Wills fought Langford 16 times he won 12 ,2 were draws, and he lost 2. Langford fought Flynn7 times, he lost 1.
Baer lost to men who weren't as good as Langford, and he wasnt fighting half as much ,nor against an often rigged deck.

Langford was fighting twice a month and often on a weekly basis he had 255 known fights if you were keeping a schedule like that don't you think you might drop a few ?
Why be so sarcastic to Chuck he's a good poster?
Langford began to go blind after the first Fulton fight in 1917 ,he was 34 and 35 for those 2 losses.

Is someone trying to paint Jeff Clark, Gunboat Smith, Young Peter Jackson, Larry Temple, and Dave Holly as bad fighters? Interesting...

Yes, is it a big black mark to occasionally lose to the calibre of these guys when you are fighting as frequently as Langford was?

Depends, how big a black mark was it to lose to Ross Puritty, Lamon Brewster, and Corrie Sanders?

Is someone implying that they were great fighters? Fascinating...

There a big field between "Bad fighters" and "great Fighters!-how about "good" or even "very good"?

this might be abit like the baer- galento bout. as great as langford was , he was still at his best as a light heavyweight.

I'm no expert on them but my impression is that they were at least very good .
