Who do you think would win at their best? 15 rounds, no 3 KD rules, best weights of their careers.

    Bonus questions:

    Who had better defense?
    Who had better chin?
    Who had harder punch?
    Who had better combos?
    Who was more versatile fighter?
Who had better top 5 wins?

    Marciano Wins by KO

    1. Langford
    2. Even
    3. PfP is Langford, Actual is Rocky
    4. Even
    5. Langford
    6. Langford
Wills, Gans, Blackburn, Ketchel and Jack O Brian are hard to beat, even more if we gave Langford the draw he was supposed to win against Walcott

I think that Langford is a bit better puncher but he didn't have the same power. Does it sound right?

Ino what you mean, I think Foreman and Wilder hit harder than Louis but I think Louis is the better puncher

    Bump, any more opinions? :)

For anyone who hasn't seen it (I doubt it though) - this is the closest we can imagine of Langford vs Marciano as Flynn was similar size with Rocky and also very tough and good infighter:

Of course, Flynn wasn't half of the fighter Marciano was but it's still nice to see some Langford tendencies against that type of fighter.

I can't find anyone similar to Langford on Rocky resume.

Marciano late stoppage. Langford would be out gunned here, but Marciano would have trouble with his short height.

    Langford, barely
    Marciano
    Marciano
    Either or
    Langford
Langford (hard to beat Gans AND Ketchel, even if Marciano has Charles on his resume)

Thanks for reply, who would you consider quicker in terms of handspeed?

I'd give that to Langford, but Marciano's speed is underrated here IMO

I agree, he wasn't Floyd Patterson or Jack Dempsey but he could throw KO punches with nice speed and could combine them into long attacks.

If the best Langford was able to fight Marciano on an equal playing field I truly believe he would stop Marciano .. better defensively, faster, a straighter punching murderous two handed puncher .. this is no knock on Marciano .. there are very few I'd favor in his size .. I just think Sam was too good.

Marciano would wreck Langford....the reasoning I have is Marciano's style leaning back over his right leg away from his lead leg forced bigger longer armed fighters to reach into his power and reach.....in order for Langford to use his long arms on Marciano he is subject to the same issues

But Langord was more than capable of fighting inside against Marciano too. He wouldn't need to keep him at distance at all.

I'm not wishing to nit pick ,but I think Rocky leaned to his right and his weight was not so much over his back leg as to the right side of his body and on his right foot.
Langford is the more polished of the two and, imo the harder puncher.I see no reason why he would have difficulty getting to Rocky.Tremendous fight which is near 50/50.imo

Rock by KO in a brutal fight , Marciano would take a lot of punishment
