Yep , could be a gruelling ,hard fight for Rocky .I'd say Langford , quick handed, dropping Marciano early , roughing him up , causing his face to swell and bruise . There d be panic in his corner at Langford s punches doing so much damage.
But Rocky persistent forward March grind s Sam down , until he finally break s him down .
Marciano by 14 round ko .

Langford looks to me extremely skillful in his hybrid stand-up grappling-striking style. Note how he keeps shoving/pulling Flynn off balance and then peppering him with well placed combinations. He also appears to have very fast hands, though the film makes it hard to be sure how fast.

I agree. For a demonstration of Rocky's hand speed, I suggest looking at the three-punch combination Rocky landed against Harry Matthews at the very end of round one. The punches come so fast they are hard to count unless you watch carefully. And all three punches are exceptionally hard. It surely must have been a combination that he had been working with on the heavy bag.

I agree, he looks extremely skilled. He also looks to have very heavy hands, look at some body shots that landed on Jeanette or Flynn. Absolute monster, only height is his limit and even then he beat huge guys like Wills or Godfrey past his prime. His experience might also give him edge here, though you can't bet against Marciano either.

On paper he beat Gans, in my book he lost, 1. Gans fought a fairly tough bout the night before, jumped on a long train ride to get to Langford, had a Cold/Flu type virus the whole time, arrived got ready in a very short time and fought a well rested, healhty Sam Langford, and from all accounts at ringside that were written on it, Gans won and dominated the 1st 6 or so round before all of the above wore him out, and he lost, so based on that, Gans beats him 9 outta 10 on any good day for both, so in my book, that fight actually hurts Sam if you look up all the details that can be found in several places.
