Yep. He's beginning to do good things now (and I hope for him he can continue to follow on that path by unifying the major belts and so start a new lineage and defend the undisputed championship a few times while cleaning up the division). But right now it's still not 'dominating the whole division' and it's still not 'bouncing back easily'
Everyone you named had fought at least one hall of famer or ATG, Wlad has yet to do that, all three you named were also not afraid to get hit either, and have been in fights where they had to show people what they are truly made of. You should never be considered a great, unless you beat one.:deal
There will come a time where he will have to show people what he's made off, he already has, so far he's 1-3, when the tables were turned, the Peter win is the only win Wlad has, where I gave him a ton of props for hanging in there and weathering the storm.
Well who says he is special? He's not . . . he is just another fighter who wants to prove himself . . . so give him a ****i'n chance . . . if he blew his chances . . . then end of his career. No BIG DEAL.
But this is strictly YOUR standard and nobody else's. So now he has to beat a great that doesnt exist in the division right now. You put him in a no win situation. Why not come out and just say what you really feel.No matter what he does and accomplishes you will never give him credit. Arent you the one who said there WILL NEVER EVER be a Euro ATG HW in another thread.Obviously you will never give CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.
I never said there will never be a Euro ATG HW, you got the wrong poster, because I wouldnt say that. As far as my opinion on Wlad goes, he is an ATG physically, that I wont argue with you on, but mentally he's far from tough and melts under the pressure most of the time, I cant cheer for a guy that falls when the going gets tough, you can call me hater, and thats fine, but to give a fighter an "A", when his mental toughness is so weak, is hard for me to do, if he proves me wrong in the next couple fights, then I will put a thread up saying I was wrong and Wlad's an ATG heavyweight in the making, but until then I stand by my opinion.
Dont make me dig through your posts. Winning and unifying the titles overrides being mentally weak.Tyson was also mentally weak.
Agreed. Peter's solid b level (w/upside possiblilties). I didn't see the McCline fight but I thought he looked prettty effective/competent vs Toney the second time around. So if he keeps adding skill to his heavyhands, he's a solid fighter. As for the peter/ Mcline fight, if McCline opens up, he is difficult for a lot of heavies especially ones giving up 6 inches as Peter did. Also, I don't think McCline has declined since he fought Wlad even tho he's 5 years older. If anything he's lost only a little and because he was soo timid vs Wlad his recent performances have to be a better showing by default. Also, I don't know how the previous poster can say Wlad isn't A level. He's beaten soundly a lot of contenders (altho a weak era), avenged the strange loss to brewster, and simply got caught early by an explosive fighter. His size and athleticism alone makes him difficult for most ATG hws and he's got skills w/ his only knock being a sometimes dodgy chin (and the current weak set of challengers).
I would never say that, and if I did, it was never in that context. I agree Tyson was mentally weak, but that only happend after he got out of jail, and even if he was it didnt show until 96, the man took a beating from Douglas and it took a uppercut from hell and a straight right I believe, for good measure just to put him down, even then he tried to get up. Tyson went on to fight Ruddick the next year, where he took the heaviest punch in the division at the time "The Smash", and didnt drop once, even when he fought Holyfield, it took everything but the kitchen sink to put Tyson down, even then he kept fighting on until the ref evetually stopped the fight, with Tyson still on his feet, Tyson was alot tougher than Wlad.

What makes him so special? Try the rest of the HW's. That's how he is to be graded, in comparison to the rest.
I still never said What you claimed I said, the thread starter himself was making very ignorant posts and I got mad, I'm not denying that, but please read a couple posts down, I said one of my favorite fighters at the moment is Chagaev, who is not American, and neither is Sam Peter.
