Forget his chin. His ego is totally out of control and his poor training habits have caught w/him. And if u dont think its as much as a factor as the damage in the wlad fight u r crazy.

Look at the people as his support system, Duva, king, and gotva (sp). he can still be a factor but he needs to change those things or he will never be a big player in the division.

Look at the sam peter vs. wlad: he was 243 and was a relentless warrior who was humble. something is just different in his personality now and its hurting him

He was well conditioned last night - he wouldn't have survived if he came in like he did against Toney the 1st fight.

But the problem is the fact that he walked in flatfooted with his hands down against McCline - and he paid big time for it. He shouldn't be calling himself "the heavyweight champion" or "the best heavyweight."

Peter appeared to be in good shape in the still photographs. Also, if he was not in good shape he would have been KOed by McCline. I think Mac had seen some weaknesses in Peter during the Klitschko fight and capitolized on them early.

Don't worry, he won't be a beltholder much longer. He was lucky to get to the top but sooner or later the luck runs out.

he showed a lot surviving that 3rd round but after than mccline just completely gassed. he did basically nothing after that. peter was more active but he looked very sloppy and tired the whole fight. i think he is really struggling w.his weight.

Hey Ralph, your right for once! Peter will fall when he faces Golota. Sam is still raw as hell.

He would beat Golota, but he would fall against Wladimir, Vitali, Virchis, and Tua.

I dont believe it to be any of those factors. I said from the VERY beginning that Peter was crude and ungamely and all that was required to beat him was a good box puncher. If Mccline had more power in his mits Peter would have been put to sleep. The bottom line is the division was crying out for a savior. Peter was crudely KO`ing B and C class fighters and everyone jumped on the hype machine. Peter imo is not even a big puncher. His got power alright but his timeing is poor his technique horrid and he has as much finesse as a caveman. If he could learn to punch correctly and place a punch he`d get somewhere as he has got the physical tools but the jury is firmly out now. His chin although not bone china isnt what we thought it would be as he ate a few shots from Vlad and has a neck like an armoured tank. This being said he was extremely fotunate not to be on the end of a TKO last night.

His not struggling with his weight. His just a naturally big guy and is always normally around the 240-250 mark. The bottom line is as you said his simply very very sloppy and doesnt possess the finer nuances of boxing or even the core fundamentals infact to truly make a diffrence as a great fighter in the heavy division. People wanted to believe in Samuel.. i never did.

I love it. He's been exposed yet he's 29-1 and WBC interim champ. The one fight he lost he had the opponent down 3 times. Exposure's a ***** ain't it.

His ego may be inflated but he continues to win. Last night he showed a lot of heart. I guess people don't care because it was Jameel McCline that he showed it against.

Well yeah, this fight could also have exposed him for having the heart and chin and conditioning to keep going onward to victory too.

    Today's fans...:patsch

I think that they're a big reason why contemporary fighters will never be as good as the fighters of the good ol' days. The fans focus and amplify negatives without considering the positives.

Peter was in great condition, he put the work in and had to adjust mid fight when faced with a crisis.. He did very well and considering he had 2 changes of opponent he survived and remains champ.. McCline is the man that failed when faced with a 4 course dinner he didn't pull the trigger and take the title. Samuel overcame a crisis and is still victorious.. His condition was excellent..

Sure, McCline exposed some weaknesses in Peter - he doesn't perhaps take as good a punch as many of us thought. But, like others have said, he did show great resilience and heart in getting up and going on to win the fight. He's beatable, but he also has good power and seems to be able to weather crises.

Time for the real champ to make a comeback.

John Ruiz will give this fool a one way ticket to Bolivian.
