Lewis had a fantastic uppercut. Vitali used to shoot them in combinations. they would make him very reluctant to charge in. u just rate ike and tua far higher and vitali, lennox, wlad far lower than i do. imo, vitali would give ike the beating of his life and lewis would give him a boxing lesson. so we'll just have to agree to disagree
He never beat a top 10 heavy, nor a champ. How do you come to the conclussion he was the best. Surely you're not basing it on the assumption of what he might have done, are you?
First of all... this has nothing to do with Wlad vs Ike, and I'm not even going down that pointless path... I am already on this pointless path. Saying that Ike would beat Peter, doesn't mean that Ike would beat Wlad. That makes no sense. I think that Ibragimov may be able to beat Peter... obviously he can't beat Wlad. This has to do with the fact that Ibeabuchi is EXTREMELY overrated. Of course, this happens to every retired fighter, and is amplified in this case because his career was cut short. Plain and simple... Ike really lost to Tua on the scorecards in most people's opinion. If you can get outboxed by David Tua... that doesn't look too good for your credentials. Hell, even if you had Ike winning it was tooth and nail. It was a great fight, don't get me wrong. However, it was only great because neither guy can box on the outside. Just because they put on a great fight, doesn't make them great fighters. David Tua has never been able to solve a jab in his career. He has been down on the scorecards to just about every good fighter that he has faced until he pulled out a stoppage.... or lost. As far as the Byrd fight goes.. you are really exaggerating it by saying that Ike "dismantled" Byrd worse than he has ever been. Byrd was winning for god's sake. In reality, he was making Ike look like ****. Byrd got cocky, put his back on the ropes and got cracked... fight over. You make it sound like Ike was a surgeon in the ring or something. Wlad's domination of Byrd in 05' was a masterpiece from start to finish. He dismanted Byrd in every aspect of the game. He wasn't getting beat for 5 rounds and then caught him with a punch when Byrd got cocky. He completely owned him from the opening bell until the stoppage. People are saying that Ike was too fast... the man was slow. Too powerful? He had good pop, and caught Byrd with a picture perfect punch... but his power is extremely overrated as well. The man only had 20 fights, most against complete nobodies and he still had 5 people go the distance. 4 of those fighters weren't even top 40 of the heavyweight rankings. Hell his second to last fight was a 9th round stoppage against an opponent who was 13-10-1. Yet people on here want to spew nonsense about him knocking out Peter within 4 rounds. So, we can stop pretending like he goes in there like a buzz saw and takes out all of the well more established fighters.
Just having a high word count doesn't mean you're saying anything relevent. You're stuck in your opinion...everyone else is wrong....you're guilty of terrible double standards...why does anyone bother discussing anything with you.
The difference is that if I decide to speak on a topic, I actually have something to say about the topic. I bring facts to back up my opinions on the issues as well. You on the other hand, come into threads only to bash on other people's opinions of the topic... while never presenting a worthwhile argument yourself.
No, you bring your opinion more then anything else. A personal opinion you think very highly of. Or your exagerrated revisionist history of certain fights.
I have had my opinion changed, or opened up before. However, it was by posters who actually had something worthwhile to say, or contribute. I apologize if I am not wavered by this type of response...
Oh yes, of course. Because that's the only type of responce you go after. You love people to hate on Wlad. It allows you to defend Wlad at any opportunity. atsch
You wouldn't think that raping some chic and going to jail would give you a PASS in some parts of your life. Being an impressive up and comer who's career was cut short BOTH benefits and detracts from Ibeabuchi in a "mythical" sense. Some claim he can match it with the best ATGs (of which Peter is NOT!); others claim he never could, cause we'd never know.
News flash... this thread is about Peter and Ike. It is you guys who can't stop bringing Wlad into the conversation. Look how many posts I went without even mentioning him. I mentioned him in the last post, because it had to do with the topic at hand, about Byrd being dismantled. You guys turn everything into a flame war, and it's pathetic. Still.... you have yet to put forth a worthwhile argument on your own behalf.
"You guys"....funny coming from the guy who usually throws the first insult out. Ike in his short career has shown more against better then Peter has. Skill also heavily favors Ike in this. As with stamina and probably chin. WHo really gives a damn what you think Byrd was doing to Ike. Peter doesn't fight ANYTHING like Byrd. atsch
