Toney never really recovered from that huge beating he received in the rematch, with an unconvincing, near-loss to Batchelder last year and a No Contest against an old Rahman last summer. Let's not start another debate on who really won that one - bottomline is that it wasn't a clear win and not something to launch him back into the rankings. On the positive side, his weight has come down.

Now, Peter comes off his career worst performance in losing every round to Vitali Klitschko. His opponent was better than expected, but i've never seen Peter so slow and uninspired either.

I think a rubber match would make a good heavyweight crossroads fight, before the end of this year. The pre-fight tale in their series has always been "Will Toney have his weight down?", but right now, i think Peter has a weight problem even bigger. I also heard he had a lot of trouble in training camp, people arguing, sparring partners sent out, etc. If he can get that and his weight together, he should be able to beat Toney again. Of course, it is much easier for a brawler to look good against a 5'9" fighter than against a 6'7" one with good footwork.

At this point, a pie eating contest between these two fatso's would be more interesting than a fight.
But in a fight, Peter wins, because Toney is just too fat to move, besides suffering from Puglistia Dementia.

I agree Pontius, I think it'd be a good match for both. I thought Toney won the 1st fight clearly, and obviously the 2nd was a convincing win for Peter. Yeah, a rubber should happen. I'd back Toney to win.

I initially thought no but really...more I think about it, more I can see it happening.

Toney may try to talk his way into a fight with one of the Klitschkos instead. Even with the Rahman fight being an NC, Toney seems to have got his swagger back from it.

Oh please God no. Why put the rest of us through that torture again. The first two fights were shitty fights, why would anyone want to see a third?

Hot dogs, not pies. Better yet, why not have both Sam and James team up and try to eat more hot dogs than a Kodiak Bear. I still remember when that Kobayashi dude tried out eating a Kodiak. He was lucky the bear did not decide to eat him!

Peter needs to fight someone like Brewster, or Tua, that he can slug it out with. Not someone like Toney. No one cares about Toney anymore, and he's not even a top 25 heavyweight.

Who would want to see this snoozefest?

  11. Peter vs. Rahman should happen first than a 3 way fight between Peter, Toney, and Rahman

Peter - Haye or Peter - Brewster would be interesting.
