Sam Peter never stopped anyone of note except an old rugged Maskaev. I expect Aguilera to have a fair chance of beating him, even though I only seen the guy once or twice. Peter is a terrible boxer and a quitter.
Peter can't, I repeat can't figure out fighters who move behind quick jabs. Aguilera isnt special in any way shape or form, but hes got decent movement, a good jab, straight punches and a pretty decent right hand. I am going with the upset, Aguilera by stoppage. I don't think Peter has anything left and I believe his chin has deteriorated, also Peter quit once, so he'll find it easier to quit when he's knees deep in hellish fire again. If Nagy can confuse him with some speed and rack up some rounds, and start landing his right hand repetetively, Peter will either get sparked or will quit on the stool again.
Sam Peter has become quite the attraction for Latin American boxing audiences. He fought on back-to-back Latin Fury cards in Mexico on the Antillon-Acosta undercard; then again on the Arce-Nonqqyai undercard. Now he's headlining a Fox Sports Espanol card. :blood
Funny how mexicans embrace a quitter like Peter. I mean, yeah... I have nothing against Peter, he's just lazy and quit on the stool. Aguilera by TKO
Peter coming in at 237 pounds is a good sign for him. At least he's keeping the weight down and staying relatively active. Maybe he learned something about conditioning from his loss to Chambers and then seeing Chambers get in good shape and score a big win.
That was a bizarre fight, Peter - Chambers, Chambers looked awful, yet he clearly won. Had Chambers really shown up on them scales in shape, hungry to make a statement, he probably would of 10-0 Peter.
I think if Chamber had been in shape and tried to really make a statement, he might have gotten a stoppage win just due to Peter completely gassing. Most of what Eddie did in that fight was throw a jab or two at a time. Had he thrown the right more often, he could have worn Peter out. Like you said, a bizarre fight.
Actually, the more I look at this fight stylistically, the more I favour Aguilera. The only real question is, can Nagy take a shot?
Hey don't forget, "Conquistador Peter" also headlined a HW title fight over there against "Sombrero Maskaev"
