"Time for the first giant to fall!" growled WBC heavyweight Champion Samuel Peter at the news that former champion Vitali Klitschko had signed to face him on October 11. "I've been waiting a long time for revenge on the first giant (Vitali's brother, IBF and WBO Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko) but now I get to knock them both out!" While there are still two cities competing for the opportunity to host the Samuel Peter- Vitali Klitschko megafight (Abuja, Nigeria and Berlin, Germany), Peter says regardless of where it's held, his greatest hope is that Vitali actually shows up this time. "He has already run from me many times, but now he has signed the contract. This time he must finally take his punishment like a man or get out of boxing forever." Peter, who is set to begin training camp next week, says he has only one message for Vitali Klitschko: "Come and get the punishment you deserve so I can get your little brother next."

I've finally seen the light. I've watched some footage of past Peter fights & he may be a little rough around the edges, but on occasion, he can deliever a decent straight right hand down the pipe.

He will finish the careers of both Vitali & his little brother, Wladdy.

WK for sure will be KO'ed by the Nigerian Nightmare & maybe training camp will take care of the older Klit.

    (((((((((((((GO SAM PETER))))))))))))))

    Raw power at its finest!

Peter already lost to Wlad. A much worse version of Wlad than is fighting now mentally.

I have no doubt that even a 75% Vitali destroys Peter. Too big a difference in skill level.

Vitali is too injury prone, if fight is not cancelled due to injury, we have to wonder if he is fighting with an injury. H ehad to cancel twice against Rahman, has been out too long. He is better than Peter, but rust and injurys are a problem.

Rico is right on both counts.

Wlad won't fight Peter again, cause Vitali will thrash Peter and reduce him to being a bit player on the fringes of the top ten, and Peter will no longer be seen as a credible opponent for Wlad.

Vitali is going to put Peter's career into a tailspin with a Danny Williams type beating that will cause Peter to be seen as somewhat of a never was/has been.

did Sam Peter really growl during that interview? If he did indeed growl, that reporter can translate animalistic sounds into plausible english dialect and that is the far greater story in the article than anything Sam Peter said.

VK's been gone an awfull long time & I can understand why Wlad won't fight him again. He had his hands full with that zombie named Tony Thompson.

I think that zombie would probably have beaten Peter on points. :good

Anyway, I am glad to see Peter start to hype this fight. Its gonna be big and dramatic................while it lasts.

Maybe Vitali will start to interject his input on it, as well, before long.

Peter is a tank, not like that donut from Canada...what was his name again?

I do have a bit of respect for Vitali & if by some miracle he makes it to the ring, he may blast Peter out of there.

As for Wlad, HE SUCKS. Period. End of story.:deal

I just can't see a inactive fighter beat Peter at this point. Though Peter hasn't looked great in his last 2 fights, he has still been very active. Now V. Klit hasn't fought in 2+ years. I don't care if you spar everyday, that still isn't active fighting. Now Wlad is active fighter who has already beat Peter. I can and do see Sam win in Oct. I do not see him beat the REAL HW Champ.

You could be right. IF Vitali beats Peter, it is indeed likely that Peter's stock will drop dramatically, at least for a time. The biggest "if" of all, of course, concerns whether Vitali will even make it to the ring.

Even if he gets beat by Vitali, however, I would not rule out a Peter-Wlad rematch eventually. Peter is young and can work his way back if he loses, particularly with the current state of the division.

At least Peter seems determined, I really do hope he comes in around 245, and comes in trying to take Vitali's head off. We must remember, Vitali hasnt felt a Heavyweight punch since December of 04, and during his camps in 05 in preperation for Rahman, it was reported that he was floored by 2 sparring partners, Travis Walker was the nail in the coffin when he floored Vitali and on the way down injuried his knee canceling on Rahman for the 4th time.

Sammy has been chewing at the bit for another shot at Waldo. He feels he was robbed by all the grabbing (and rightfully so, 96 times in 12 rounds).

He will take it all out on the older brother. Vitlay even in his prime had not seen a guy like Sam Peter. And it's likely he will be the last boxer Vitlay sees as a professional, IF Vitlay even makes it to the ring.

I feel Sammy's quest for revenge will come unsatisfied as Povetkin will dethrone the younger brother. But Sammy will have his fun with Vitlay should that fight actually come off (something I highly doubt).
