Hey, I can see where people might think Virchis is a live dog; after all, Corrie Sanders beat him, and Virchis is pretty darn similar to Sanders, albeit righthanded.

Peter will lose in his next fight unless it is against Ruiz or Golota like Don King is going to try and make those fights. Klitschko, Chagaev, Valuev etc. would box Peter silly. Peter has what 2 KO's in his last 7 fights? And that is against crap competition also.

Well my friend a certain poster here that has worked with ruslan and Peter said that peter worked him in the gym when they sparred and that ruslan got shaken badly on one occasion. Two of peters last 7 fights was a against a man that in 80 fights has never been ko. Everybody says that peter will get outboxed or ko in every fight but he keeps winning:deal

He didn't win against Wlad, he didn't really win in the first Toney fight, and he fought tooth and nail in the McCline fight that many think he really lost. If you can't beat McCline any more decisively than that, you won't hold your title long.

But to be fair, Peter did somewhat redeem himself against Oleg. I gotta give him big credit for that. Certainly.

Peter was not 100% in the McCline fight, ruptured eardrum, no time to prepare for McCline, and one of his hands was hurt from hitting the trainer in the elbow.

I agree. Virchis ain't got much other than a knockout punch. To say he has a big advantage over Peter is a bit exagerated. They are both technically flawed, slow and easy to hit. The question is, who will land the first bomb?

Sparring? Sparring means **** hell Gary Bell was knocking Holyfield all over the ring when he was training for the first Tyson fight did that matter? What matters is what happens on fight night in a REAL fight. Peter fought a grossly fat James Toney and the first fight was so inconclusive the WBC had to order another one. Toney is a slob. Jamell McCline bounced Peter around the ring like a basketball.

Peter had a ruptured eardrum which affected his balance, and for that matter peter bounced Wlad like a basketball so what is your point:deal

It means that Peter just like McCline sucks how do you knock someone down 3 times and still lose on points? The answer is because they can't Box worth a crap. The funny thing is 1 of Klitschko knockdowns no punch was even landed he just went down. Peter did not win 1 round where he did not knock Wlad down that is terrible.

Pray tell, why do you consider Peter's title a 'paper title'?

Yeah, Rumsfeld, his title is as legit as any, as he won it in the ring.

Gotta admit, Peter proved me wrong against Oleg. He certainly handled Oleg, and then some. (But Oleg did rock Peter, bad, so Peter is not as iron chinned as was thought. The McCLine fight also proved this) But, Peter did impress me against Oleg, yes.

But, I think Virchis / Peter would be a pick em fight. Both are pretty simlilar in assets and liabilities. Virchis can split the earth with one shot, and Peter's chin is suseptible, as we now know. I also think Virchis is a bit faster than he's given credit for on this thread. Virchis is not really that bad of a boxer. I'd think the chances are about even, given that Peter is also full of confidence and seems to be on a roll, now.
