Thats fine, but pointing out the guys that KO'd Maskaev 4 or 5 years ago proves nothing today, Wlads been knocked out by equally as bad oppostion, Ross "The Boss", who had almost as many wins as losses, Corrie "The White" Sanders, a guy that has been a journeymen most of his career. Maskaev is a tough oppenent, he's a top 5 guy, weak division or not, that's where he's placed, he's no worse than Iggy who's best wins are over Old Holyfield and Shannon "The Inhaler" Briggs, and thats not forget the draw he had with Austin.

Every fighter has there low points, right now Maskaev is top fighter in the division, a Sam Peter win would be huge, I wouldnt be surprised if there was parade in "Time Square" for Samuel, this is a must see fight for all Boxing fans.

To the first part of your post: Why? Dude has rudimentary, at best, skills and doesn't even bother to get in shape.

To the second part: I do think he will have trouble with Oleg (I'm picking Maskaev by decision), and I think his chances to beat Wlad are slim to none, with slim leaving town if the referee calls Sam on rabbit punching.

He didn't give Wlad anything remotely resembling a hell of a fight. Wlad beat the **** out of him, got for all intents hurled to the ground twice, and got KD'd once in the 10th. Before resuming beating the **** out of Peter and making him do the heavyweight version of the funky chicken in the 12th. He would outbox him even worse now; considering that in the past 2 years Wlad's confidence and ability to stay calm and stick to a gameplan have gone through the roof (even if I don't necessarily like the gameplan all the time).

Wlads confidence hasnt went up, he just hasnt got hit with the big punches lately. Look at how terrified Wlad was to throw the right hand against Iggy, for fear of being countered. Wlad is still mentally weak, and it shows in face and his fighting style, as we seen in the Iggy fight. An agressive fighter like Peter will always give Wlad trouble, when Wlads pressured, he panics and Clinches, and if hit with a significant punch, he goes down, he's not a tough fighter in that sense.

Peter hasn't knocked anyone, worth of notice, out since 2005 (that circus with Julius Long doesn't count) and you claim that he's the hardest puncher in the division???

Damn right Leeroy! Welcome aboard! :thumbsup

Sam Peter is the best thing to happen to the heavyweights in a very long while. Let's hope he gets it through his head that he has to take it serious. LOADS of potential to be the very best for sure.

Ivaylo Gotzev said it best that when he went to the games to find the next heavyweight champion he looked no further than Sam Peter. The man was just made to be a heavyweight champion.

Yes-slow, plodding, marginal technique, little to no discipline-God, it's like the 80's all over again.

Peter can't fight well. McCline beat the crap out of him. Toney beat Peter in their first fight. Peter can't beat an old middleweight! Peter has been given everything on a silver platter, Don King protects him. Vitali will enjoy knocking him out, if Oleg does not do it first.

Yes, if training camp doesn't knock out Vitali first.

Vitali does not have to be 100% to beat Peter. Vlad will knock Peter out. Valouev will knock Peter out. Chagaev would knock Peter out. Povetkin would knock Peter out. Ibgagimov would stop Peter of decision him. Not to mention so many others.

You know what has to drive the Waldo fanboys crazy is that McCline is essentially Sam Peter's Corrie Sanders.

Yea, but Sam Peter got up to win his fight. Can't say that Waldo managed to do that huh?

And the real pisser for them is that when Sam finally did go down, he didn't get up and grab on for dear life. Before OR after the fact. He dug down deep and survived by jabbing and landing more frequently than the spent McCline.

And by that he has already shown twice the heart and conditioning that Waldo has shown. Sucks to be a Waldo fan. :rofl

Vlad easily outboxed Peter, had peter out on his feet in the 12th round. Peter is nothing to Vitali or Vlad. Vlad also stopped McCline, Peter was beaten by McCline. Vlad will do his talking in the ring, Peter lets Don King save him in the ring. Peter says, Help Mr.King, help me! Well, King has chosen the judges, referee, fight venue, cheated Oleg out of his fair purse, etc.
