Those points are just what ifs, maybe`s, could be`s and preamble. Peter doesnt come in at 235 240 he comes in at a fat 250. His not a work in progress as now that he holds a world title his migrated from prospect to "world champ". But lets be real. This was a title that was fought between a journeyman and a VERY average heavyweight.

I really dont see this jab or head movement that you speak of. All i saw vs Maskeav was what looked like a herd of wildabeast stampeding for food. Peter rabbit punched and clubbed his way to a KO. It was horrible to watch and certainly NOT world class boxing.

I cant fully agree with you here, Maskaev is not a journeymen, and if Peter's a very average fight as you described in your post, what does that make Wlad? Who had to fight life and death with Samuel back in Sept of 05, where Peter only lost to the number 1 guy in the division by 3 points on all three of the judges scorecards.

I'm not saying Peter's going to be a Mike Tyson in a couple years, but he will continue to be one of the top fighters in the division in which he is currently number 2 in, if you rewatch the Peter/Maskaev fight you will see the improved head movement and the jab I described, other than Peter's weight and stamina, everything else is getting better, time will tell wether Peter continues on this path, but I sure hope he does, we need all the exciting Heavyweights we could get anymore.

I watched that fight and i was disgusted.Even my partner commented on Peters clumsiness in the ring and shes not even a boxing fan.

The only time you will ever see improvement is via a miracle.Right now his team are crap his camps are crap his conditioning is dire there really isnt anything positive going for him. Im not willing to hang on to optimisim when its clear as day that Peter simply doesnt have the basic fundamentals. His a flawed fighter from top to bottom.

I agree, he still crude, and needs better trainers/training, but the fact that he's the number 2 guy and beat some good oppenents on his way up, didnt happen by accident. As far as you being disgusted with Peter, that's your opinion, most felt the same way about Wlad/Iggy, at least the fans got a knockout in the Peter/Maskaev fight, and in the end that's what the average guy wants to see anyway.

Im not even interested in talking about that fight it was that poor. Both fighters were so negative.

The problem is the heavy division currently is so thin that where grasping at straws trying to project the next big thing. Vlad certainly is talented but if this was the 90`s that guy would just be scraping the top 15.

I agree with your second Paragraph, I even did a thread a couple months back regarding that very subject, titled "Would Wlad survive in the 90's", the common consensus was, Wlad would eventually get a title, but there's no way he would be top dog. I myself feel is chin is too weak, and isnt tough enough to handle fighters like Bowe, Tyson, Lewis, Mercer, etc...

Vlad wouldnt even have the tools to beat guys like Ruddock Mercer or even Bruno. All those guys could punch with authority and fought on the front foot. Vlad is too cautious naturally and doesnt have that killer instinct or desire to take risk.In my opinion his not a natural fighter.

I fully agree with you, even a guy like Morrsion would give him fits if he came out aggresive enough, the man could throw one hell of a hook. I just think with Wlad's lack of toughness and chin, he would be an easy target for the more powerful, skilled Heavyweights IMO.
