Prior to the fight with Maskaev people were saying maskaev was the champ with the weakest chins around.
The same people were convinced that the first time peter landed one of his bombs he would take out Oleg cold...

Last night I watched the fight, and I counted at least 20 punches landed by Peter in the finish, 4 of them flush right hands, and Maskaev?
Well he just took them and remained standing...

What did the damage though was the several looping rapit punches Peter landed to the back of Maskaev head...

Peter is not the Shavers/Foreman type puncher a lot of people are making him out to be..
    Way overrated.

If the vitali fight comes off, vitali only has to come in at 25% of the fighter he was back in 2004 to beat this overrated guy...

I agree in a sense, he is powerful, but in the HW division everyone has a powerful punch. We're talking about plus 14 stone guys going at it, whoever really lands well first will usually ko the other guy.

If he hadn't have gone crazy, he would have had a great future in that division.

I like Peter because he is tough and aggressive but I have to agree. He has a few good KOs but Oleg isn't known for having a great chin and it took dozens of shots to finish him off. If Peter lands a full power shot on someone he's probably going down. But the same can be said for a dozen or so heavyweights. Peter has good power and has immense strength but he isn't the Foreman or Shavers that people are saying he is.

Some think that the bombs Ike absorbed against tua damaged him to a criminal degree...
Shame..Could have been fun to see him against lewis, tyson and holyfield...

I wouldn't want to be the guy who has to test that theory.
That said, I do agree his "ONE" punch K.O. ability is defo a work of fact mixed with alot of fiction.

Nah.....that title belongs to Christian Okoye, a former RB for the Kansas City Chiefs. He had it back in the early 90's.

Ike could hit just ask byrd..
However he was more a pressure fighter than a one punch bomber.
I cant remember how many shots he and tua threw in their great fight, but it was some sort of record.

Sam Peter does have raw power but.... he can't consistently land shots with good leverage and speed. He's slow with poor boxing technique. From time to time he may land a lucky flush shot that has both leverage and speed (kinda like in the Williams fight), but most of the time all he has is that raw power of his that he can't properly utilize on a regular basis. His power may not be overrated, but Sam Peter as a one shot KO puncher is definitely overrated.
