There have been rumors about Peter's age (28) being a fictitious DOB. If this is true, would it affect his performance tonight and would he be the one getting old in the ring tonight.

Even if Peter is five or seven years older than his official DOB, I don't think it will affect him in the ring tonight. Usually, in order for age to be a factor, the fighter has to have had a history of tough, punishing, draining fights in the past. Peter hasn't really been punished in his career, thus he will be peaked tonight regardless of whether he is 28 or 35.

Isn't that the case with a large amount of athletes born in Africa ?

Also I remember a real sports about latino baseball players in the same boat.

Peter's age is correct. That is only a rumor. The true rumor is that Vitali is 41, and that's why he had all of those injuries, and has been out for 4 years.

Bull**** rumors, if his age was fake he would have been caught already. Some of you guys think entering boxing is like entering a ****ing dancing club.

You are right about his history and no punishing fights on his resume. His weight for this fight is troubling though and in his best performance to date against a quality opponent (James Toney2) he weighed in around 230 something.

Lets see though. He needs to bully Vitali tonight in order to get a KO.

Some guys actually started threads about him being 38 when he was 24. It's still going strong I see.

Some of these people might want to download his fights in the Olympics and take a better look at how slim he looked back then and how young he obviously was.

Amateur boxers have been known to fake their age before turning pro. The reason is that younger prospects are perceived as having brighter futures than older ones, and they attract better managerial offers for that reason.

I know that but most of those guys were caught in the long run that's why it's known today that they did that. Nothing came out about Peter and it has been YEARS since his professional days, meaning it's bull****.
