Agreed, he will likely fight Mundine in Melbourne as he needs to wait for Golovkin to destroy Geale in July before he can receive his hiding at the hands of Golovkin.
after geale beats ggg, he can fight solimon in a super fight to see who is the best in the world at middleweight.
Sounds good. Great to see the Aussies dominating the Middle Weight division with Fletcher and Dawson in the mix with massive fights coming up too. Good times for aussie boxing!
Boxing is a funny game with all it's politics and everything. Geale avoided Sam for years. Sam called him out in the ring after he defeated Albert in November 2011, when Geale was commentating ringside for Fox Sports. But Geale has avoided him ever since. They sparred together years ago, and I suspect that Geale knows it''d be a fight that would most likely go to a judge's decision- between two brilliant technical boxers- one quite orthodox and one very unorthodox, both without super punching power. Without big $ incentive, Geale was best avoiding someone he knew he'd be in a very tough battle with. Now the shoe is on the other foot, it will be interesting to see what happens. On one hand I don't blame people for looking for the fights where they can get the most money but on the other hand I think the sport suffers because of it. You know, the best fighters never fighting each other etc. I mean it sucks that the best 2 middleweights in the world over the past few years have undoubtedly been GGG and Martinez, and the best two Aussie Middleweights who have both now been/are world champs are Soliman and Geale. But GGG has never fought Martinez, the two Aussies have never fought each other, and neither of the Aussies has fought the top dogs either (until GGG vs Geale). As a kind of half interested casual fan, it'd be so much more interesting if the best just fought the best, across the board in boxing. But that'll never happen.
Sams style is not appealing to casuals and without Mundine he would be unknown. To be fair the same can be said of Geale too both their futures lie overseas they don't have much of a media profile like Green/Mundine and a fight between Soliman-Geale would be a PPV flop here in Australia and have zero interest overseas. Sad but true. Green v Siaca would of sold better than Sam and Daniels world title fights. Even though it was a farcical mismatch between a drug addict who had 6 fights in 6 years the last at MW. Look at the promo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jutUOCDBIIM Danny using a 2004 fight with an irrelevant puissant to sell this IBO sanctioned abortion of a ''world title fight''Sam and Daniel are not big noting loudmouths in the press like Mundine and Green. If they both have world titles that might change though. Fingers crossed Geale pulls off the upset.
A Geale vs Soliman fight doesn't make a lot of sense while they have better fight options that pay better as well.
I wasted a lot of typing. You should of posted this before and I could have quoted you and simply typed ''this''.
Golovkin Vs. Geale has been signed and will be shown on HBO. As soon as Golovkin gets past that and his mandatory he will fight Soliman, as he wants that title unification fight ASAP............
